That's Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker. With one day of filming left for him in Star Wars, he was in a terrible car wreck and fractured his nose and cheekbone and had to have an extensive reconstruction operation to put the one side of his face back together. He had a lot of scarring but they wrote it into the storyline of The Empire Strikes Back that he got the injury from battling the wampa at the beginning of the movie.

Could you imagine if David Prowse also got the speaking part with his lovely Bristolian accent? Bristol, where they all sound like pirates.
