If the mouse keepers cant find dirt or broken appliances howinthehell are they supposed to find drugs or other contraband.

A bounty system perhaps $100 for a joint or a $1000 for a gun Mousekeepers will be planting evidence to earn bounties.

This has the potential to go badly wrong on many levels. If its a security issue use professionals doing random sweeps.

This, This, This a thousand times.

I keep hearing it also has to do with guests smoking in the rooms, with no mouse keeping for the week, then after they leave mousekeeping has no way to actually prove guets were smoking in their room, besides the smell, but prove that with the guest already checked out.

Disney does squat about smoking in rooms, last stay at AKL we had smoker in lockoff room next to us we had smoke pouring out under the door and balcony was unusable. Took 2 days of front desk visits to get this fixed, to add insult to injury security guys asked if WE were smoking. Yeah with 2 asthmatics in our room we were the ones puffing away. Yes DW and DFIL were puffing away on inhalers to counteract the smoke's effects

This does nothing to stop some one repeating what happened in Vegas.. Are mousekeeping or any one else going to start going through peoples locked bags? All anyone need to do is lock all the guns or what ever in suit cases and get them out when ever they want..
Also just put the security bar/chain on your door or are they going to remove them as well. Its a complete waste of time and anyone deeply involved in national security threats know it is, its done to appease the public.

It's like a $500 fine if you smoke in the room... they are looking for more cash to grab.

I'll bet as part of the 'security' upgrade the security bar/chain will be removed.

As a result this will be a full employment act for Orlando's criminal class. Hey if they cant stop the pizza flyer scam...

But when you last stayed back in the 70's smoking was acceptable ...

I don't like this change.

Once I was staying at AKL and needed to have a few smokes. Not sure what the big deal was. I kept my smoking to the balcony or blowing directly under the lock off door into the next room.

My neighbor kept calling security on me! Can you believe that?

Good thing I was able to convince them that it was actually the room next door that was smoking.

I guess they'll have to post reminders to guests that personal firearms are not allowed on WDW property.

Thats already a problem as there have been many 'incidents' along those lines about off duty cops backup pieces falling out on rides or left behind in the john... not to mention just plain idiots forgetting there was a loaded gun in daypack
