Dissapointed with Universal!

Let's face the facts. The one and only problem with Universal is that it's destined eternally to be in Disney's shadow. If Disney never exited, Universal would be at the top of the list and none of us would complain about it being so (insert whiny adjective), we would probably be asking why "Sea World" and "bush Gardens" are not well-themed.

That was the most intelligent, coherent statement I have ever heard made in the myriad of Universal VS. WDW battles on these forums.

I still don't understand why it has to me a contest or argument. I work at WDW & I LOVE WDW...always have. From the first moment I went there as a guest, I've wanted to be a part of it & now that I am, I'll never leave. BUT...I also love Universal/IOA. I don't care which is "better". That's like comparing apples & oranges...2 very different things from a common species. Universal will NEVER have a giant mouse in a sorcerer hat, so it has a natural handicap against WDW. WDW will always have an edge simply because of classic character love, BUT this does not mean Universal "sucks". It has plenty to offer as well that is just as worthy of recognition.

Personally, I do see where both have strengths & weaknesses. When comparing holiday festivities & such, I do see where MY PERSONAL preferences may sway more to one than another, but it all balances out in the end. They are both AWESOME entertainment entities & both deserve recognition & respect for the pleasure, thrills & memories they provide. Enough already. Stop nit-picking about every little thing, stop seeking out minute little comparisons. It's really getting silly to go through this discussion every other week. If you like WDW, go there. If you like US, go there. If you're open minded & just like theme park entertainment...here's a novel idea...GO TO BOTH!

Sheesh!! :brick:

*stands up and begins the slow clap*

Dawn...I must say...(in the words of Meatloaf)

"You took the words right out of my mouth..."

:sohappy: Very impressive...I feel the same way and it also bothers me that Universal will always be in the shadow of Disney...but I must say...I love IoA and Universal (granted, I believe that both parks need MORE but who is going to argue the fact that Animal Kingdom doesn't need more?) Every trip (with the exception of this quick one I'm taking) I make sure that I get to at least IoA. About the holidays...Universal has it all over WDW (but not for the children)...but...for the Christmas season, WDW has it all over USF (although, it seems like they may be trying to take a little wind out of the sails of WDW this year with the Macy's Day Parade and the larger Grinchmas)
