Disnys plane on the tram tour ????

It did indeed very carefully land on World Drive.

It was then craned over the parks fence and towed onto the tour path (originally closer to the rear of One Mans Dream)
How is there not film footage of the landing around? And no, I'm not assuming, though I could, that you were there with a camera on your shoulder, but something from the company.

When did the STOLport go into disuse? I would have assumed they would land it there, but then I guess transportation to MGM would still have been an issue.

From what I read, they had wanted to use the STOLport for this landing, but the FAA never liked its proximity to the monorail line and permission was denied.

It could be part of a center median display on one of the roadways or a centerpiece in a parking lot with a statue of WD. Lots of ways you can honor him with this memento.
While it would be a great display out in the open not requiring admission media, I am afraid too many people would either A)Slam on their brakes to see it, B) Slam on their brakes, pull over, and take a picture or C) Slam on their brakes and rear-end someone in the process of A and B.

Whatever the reason, they all seem to have a main message of "slamming on their breaks".

This is true. I deduced this by the fact that many a tourist do this as they pass under the magic arches to the property. I would make this same assumption if they saw Walt's plane sitting in the median somewhere.

Can't say I disagree. However, somewhere at the entrance of one of the parks or Disney Springs would be solid.

D23's Armchair Archivist had a video about Walt's Plane....

Those gauges are awesome. Gives me an idea for a custom set in my car!

Why wouldn't they recommission the plane? Be a cool guest experience regardless of the cost. Could you imagine flying over the wdw property in Walt's personal jet?! Probably a pipe dream with the mk no fly zone...but cool non the less.

My guess would be Burbank. Either at the animation studio or at WDI HQ.

I would lean towards it staying in Florida since it has a strong connection to WDW historically and since it's likely not air-worthy any more it would cost a lot more to move it across country since it would need to be disassembled to do that.
