Disneyworld.com sucks - Tell them!

Most of us know that Disney.com sucks. It's horrible, inaccurate, and the people who make their living off of it should be ashamed of themselves.

Broken links (for a year now!) and inaccurate information make it harder for anyone trying to plan a trip to WDW to really understand the place prior to arrival. Not to mention showing them images of the old rooms at the Contemporary is just wrong.

So, I beg you, please.. Tell Disney their website sucks. I know many people feel this way but not many people tell Disney the truth about their website. Without signifigant statistical evidence that something is wrong Disney will not move to right this problem.

So i'm providing the link to Disneyworld.com and at the bottom of the page, please click: "Tell us what you think"

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index

And this link might work to go right to the survey...

The direct link you provided works fine. I agree, it is pretty bad. I get most of my information from here, not from the source. I wish they would update disneyworld.com more often. I took the survey, and let them know I was dissatisfied.

I let them have a piece of my mind. The site is slow and out-of-date. The guests deserve a better website, and I certainly wouldn't use it for trip-planning. :fork:

oh oh. you said the "S" word. flaming will commence in 3...2...1....

I don't expect any flaming. This was thoroughly "debated" a couple of weeks ago, with the consensus being that although many of us consider it a vulgar term, and cringe when we hear/see it being used in mixed company (as my dear departed mother would say) it's meaning has changed over the past few decades to something that doesn't offend the majority.

I can't help but think of the time I was chastised for using the phrase "you rot" which was popular teenspeak at the time. Trust me, when I used it, I had no idea that someone would think I was making fun of lepers.

So, I consider it a generational issue, rather than a forum issue.

My husband and I have used that site to book our trip the past 3 years and have had no problems. They always mail us our payment statments on time and we always get our travel documents in a timely manner.

I certainly hope none of the lepers who were within the sound of your voice were offended! :lookaroun I know you would never intentionally say anything hurtful! :animwink:

the site is really flakey. Sometimes it works fine, othertimes nothing will load--many, many times I have had issues with the glitchy calendar pages and even the ultra-important booking pages have issues from time to time ("site is too busy to handle me"? Please. Disney needs to have a way to handle all the money coming in they can). Of all the issues we might think of involving WDW, this should be the FIRST to be fixed b/c it's the easiest and cheapest. We're not asking for an E-Ticket.

I like to use the site to build my itinerary. If we forget to pack ours or we lose it while we are there we can reprint it without any concern. However the daily planner portion has not been working properly for some time now. We booked the Boutique at Downtown Disney but changed to the new Castle location. The site will not allow me to delete the 1st reservation from my itinerary.

I e-mailed Disney and received a completely useless response that was not addressing the correct problem. I called and they can't help me either.

I always book my trips from the Disney website, and have never had any problems. If I need to make any special requests, I'll book over the phone. Anything is better than dealing with travel agent's:hurl: .

I dont know it works great for me maybe its your computer?

I don't have an issue with the site not working.

However, I DO have an issue with it being a terrible website. It would be a par for the course site, if it was still 1998. Which, by the way, is the last time I think it was updated.

Whoa, wasn't that phrase popular in like the 1800's or something! Mom...did you just give something away?:animwink:

Anyhoo, as far as the topic at hand goes...I agree the website is horrible. When we first used it 2 years ago it was very buggy and as slow as molasses, granted, we had very slow dial up then but it was still inexcusably bad. We now have high speed wireless internet and it's still a pain in the neck to get info from the site. Except for the first trip we never use the website for hardly anything but to occasionally check EMH times and special event times. We are DVC members now so booking/planning our trip is as easy as picking up the phone.

I don't have a problem with it. A site like that has a million things going on, so I don't expect it to be perfect. It's probably a bit slow for people with older computers because most of it is flash.

I have also experienced alot of frustration using their site. I do not find it very user friendly, especially when I am trying to research rooms at different resorts. And it IS slow alot of the time....it has nothing to do with my computer.

And there's no reason for all that animation.

You really should design a website for your weakest link.

Heck, even on this site you can disable flash!

I hate their website too, for several reasons. Not because it runs slow, but because a lot of it is not user friendly. For instance, it should be much easier to check availability at different resorts during your vacation than it actually is. As it stands now, when you search for availability, every single resort comes up, then you choose the one you want. You dont know until you proceed to the next screen whether it is available or not.

I've also experience problems with their AP disocunt booking before. I kept getting "Error: null value" whatever that means. To their credit, however, that seems to be fixed.
