How much older would you feel if I told you that this park (being the third gate for DLR) in first incarnation dates all the way back to January of 2011?1 year anniversary? Man, I feel old.

And boy has a lot changed about it since then. How much older would you feel if I told you that this park (being the third gate for DLR) in first incarnation dates all the way back to January of 2011?
It even changed owners (unless James Koehl happened to be Douglas’ old account) https://www.themeparkinsider.com/news/response.cfm?ID=945507724And boy has a lot changed about it since then.
I wonder if it’s just a coincidence that both parks are called DisneySky? There appears to be a pretty big time gap between that and this, which I believe was Hulk’s original proposal:It even changed owners (unless James Koehl happened to be Douglas’ old account) https://www.themeparkinsider.com/news/response.cfm?ID=945507724
I think James Koehl is @James G. , as I remember them knowing Doug and the original Americana 1900 (which will probably come to this forum in the future) was created by him in a TPA finals (under the alternate account/psuedonym of Scott E). I think Doug started armchair imagineering in either 2015 or 2016 on TPIIt even changed owners (unless James Koehl happened to be Douglas’ old account) https://www.themeparkinsider.com/news/response.cfm?ID=945507724

No connection whatsoever. I didn’t even know about James’ DisneySky until after submitting the original competition draft of my concept.@D Hulk So is today's DisneySky the continuation of James's original concept? Or does your park just draw inspiration and theme from his? Or is there no connection whatsoever?
Interesting! What an odd coincidence. No connection whatsoever. I didn’t even know about James’ DisneySky until after submitting the original competition draft of my concept.
James’ version is also “fantasy” oriented as apposed to the “magical realism” that Hulk went with in both parks.I wonder if it’s just a coincidence that both parks are called DisneySky? There appears to be a pretty big time gap between that and this, which I believe was Hulk’s original proposal:

But there’s still one thing I need to know. What does the G. stand for?Y'all nailed it! James Koehl is @ James G, and I presented my presentation of Americana 1900 (back before it had its colonectomy and was "Americana:1900" using the pseudonym of Scott E.
I suppose I could come up with something imaginative, but it's my middle initial, George, named after my father, and my maternal greatgrandfather. But there’s still one thing I need to know. What does the G. stand for?
Greatness! But there’s still one thing I need to know. What does the G. stand for?
Man I still can’t believe this was a year old! I vividly remember reading new posts every day after logging out of online school and on weekend afternoons, I even remember the final post! (And this was all before I decided to create an email and an account here lol)Happy 1 year anniversary to this DisneySky thread!
Glad you’re enjoying your trip back through DisneySky.I've been revisiting this thread, and reliving the thrill of DisneySky. And honestly, this thought came to mind: One day down the line, would you ever do a thread detailing what you would do to update Disneyland and Disney California Adventure? I'm sure your ideas for that would be enough to make those two parks stand on the same level as the majesty that is DisneySky!
Or turn the pages back and undertake an old park of mythic proportions. It’s more likely that I’d tackle another new gate one of these days.
