I enjoy the hopefulness, but I just don't think it'll ever happen for me...just so expensive, not to mention the language I need to learn, and then the money needed for Hotels, Transportation, Food (I'd have to start to eat.), admission, gifts, and Ahkihabara spending.

The hope part of me is all "HOPE!", but then that pesky LOGIC part of my mind kicks in and is all like "Yeahhhhhh...don't get your hopes up THAT much."

I wish CM's got discounts and maingate use there, but alas...

It looks to be a $15k trip so far.

Unless I've missed it I don't see any complete package deals on the TokyoDisney website.

Sorry, it's just hard to be comforted by the sight of Horizons since it was...you know...Violently torn down.
:lookaroun

Hey, I'm feeling great. I found $50 the other day, THIS is as optimistic as I get my friend...
 :D
In principle...:dazzle::(:(

And HEH! I found 40 bucks in quarters in my closet after cleaning.

I was quite optimistic as well...

...for eBay.:lookaroun:lol: You saw the TDS Coin.

It's expensive, but if you watch it for a while it can be done for much less than 15k. Our airfare from STL was $1100ish each, then we stayed at the Mira costa for half the trip, and then moved to the Sheraton. Worked GREAT! Had a park view at both hotels which was amazing.

For my family of 4, plus I took my parents (so 6 total), I think it ended around 12k. Including food, tickets... Even a trip up mt fuji!!!

And it was worth every single penny.

Hmmm...I wonder how much a few days in Tokyo would be in addition to that..

The cost goes WAYYYYY down the more time you spend away from the parks. The Mira Costa was something like $550 a night! But that was with a park view. Actually, the view from my window is in the album I linked to on the first page. I wondered how they would handle people being able to see in the park during closed hours with the work they do and everything. Well, they pretty much don't care. You can see work trucks parked in places in the pic in my album, actually.

Anyway. If you do it right, and you were trying to spend as little as humanly possible, you could still do Tokyo fairly cheaply. Airfare is the big hit. If you stay near the city at a decent hotel, it'll cost only about the same as a decent hotel here in the states, and then it's about a 15 train ride to the parks (SUPER easy to figure out). And relatively speaking, the cost of admission to the parks is better than it is anywhere else, except Hong Kong.

And it's easy to eat on a budget over there. Heck, you could eat for less than $10 a day if you really wanted to. There are noodle counters all over the place... Little tiny booth like places all over the city, with literally like 5 barstools across the front. You get your soba noodles for a couple bucks, and off you go.

It can be done, my friend. It can be done. And it is so worth it, I can't say it enough.

Perfect example: Take a look at a picture of their Tower of Terror. AMAZING. A M A Z I N G. And their story line is better, I think, too. That Shiriki is one freaky little dude. And the effects on the outside of the building at night are unbelievable. SO cool. I'm sure there's video out there of it somewhere.

Can't imagine 12K PLUS Otaku Spendings...
:dazzle:

You scale it back pretty easy by not spending 7 days at the parks, or staying in the Mira Costa, and pretty much sparing no expense. We treated it as a once in a lifetime thing, so we went a little nuts. Heck, we ate at Roy's in downtown Tokyo (we ate at one on Maui and we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to have it again) and that meal alone cost me somewhere upwards of $600.

If we were budget minded, I'd bet we could have done it for probably $10k for 6 of us for the 9 days. Not cheap, but also not too bad for being literally on the other side of the planet, and also for the dollar being awfully weak against the yen. That was a big problem right there.

General Information & Crowd Patterns of Tokyo DisneySea

At first, I'd like to describe the general information about Tokyo DisneySea. I hope this information makes you help. And besides, I'm sorry for my poor english:eek: (my mother lanugage is Japanese.)

Park Wide:
Really beautiful:kiss: I visited all Disney Parks except for HKDL. I think Tokyo
DisneySea (TDS) is most beautiful park. If you like Europe (especially
Italia, you should love there absolutely.
But I think there is one concern... There are too many slope in TDS.
You had better put on comfortable shoes.
In Winter Season, it is really cold because TDS face real sea. Feeling
temperature is too low (0 deg C = 37F I guess).

You can get a English Guide Book & Sign Board in English. Almost Cast
Member can't speak English. But don't worry. They are really kind. Even
if they can't speak English, they try to understand what you want:)
If you want to know details of TDS, you had better to book Guided Tour.
You can make a reservation in Guest Relation. If available, A bilingual
cast attend to your party. (You can ask and make a reservation at
Guest Relation).

Attractions:
You have never seen almost attractions before!! There is not hard thrill
ride in TDS. I recommend "Magic Lamp Theater", "Journy to the Center of
the Earth", "Indiana Johnes Crystal Temple", "Venetian Gondora".

And besides, you shouldn't miss the show attraction "Big Band Beat".
I can't tell you the contents of this show. But I promise you would be
suprised the perfomance!! You don't miss it!!

Shops:
You can find any culture of goods such as Japanese, Italian, American
and so on. My recomendation is "Disney Bear" goods! "Disney Bear" is
so cute character!! I think you can only get "Disney Bear" goods at TDS.
Food Suvenior: 800Yen - 3000Yen ($8.50 - $30.00)
Stationary Suvenior: 150 Yen - 1500Yen (Postcard, Clear Case, Letter
Set $1.50 - $15.00)

Restaurants:
You can find any culture of foods such as Japanese, Italian, American
Chiese. You can feel around-the-world!! Of course, Taste is so nice!!
As you know, There seem to be 2 main types of restaurant. Table
Service and Fast-Food.

Table Service Restaurant provides nice lunch & dinner (such as
pasta, pizza, TEMPRA(Japaenese Flied Vegitables & Shrimp), Steak and
so on) with drink (Wine and bear) inside TDS.
The range of average fee is 1500Yen - 3500Yen ($15.00 - $35.00) in
Lunch and 3000Yen - 5000Yen($30.00 - $50.00) in Dinner.

Fast-Food Restaurant provides nice lunch (such as NewYork Style
Sandwitches, Hamburger and so on).
The range of average fee is 1000Yen - 2500Yen ($10.00 - $25.00) in
Lunch and 1500Yen - 3500Yen($15.00 - $35.00) in Dinner.

You should not miss the Snack Wagon! There are some flavor of
Pop-Corns!! Of course, you can get nice treat (such as Chease Cake
Bar. Pie and Pudding).

There is one conern for American People. It is volume of foods.
I guess that volume is not much for American People (of couse, it is
engouh for us!). The half of American volume is usual in Japan.
(Small size in America is as same as Middle size in Japan).

I recommend that you had better to get the lunch at Fast-Food or
Snack Wagon and the dinner at Table Service Restaurant.
Especially, "BLLAVISTA LAUNGE"(located inside Tokyo DisneySea Hotel
MiraCosta) or "Ristorante Di Canaletto" is best for dinner!!
