I've used it b4. The only down side to it is when you claim your photos online you have up to 30 days to buy them. If you don't buy the w/in 30 days they are lost forever. If you want to see some of mine http://photobucket.com/albums/b155/disney_prncess/x-mas 2005 WDW/Photo Pass/ there is the link. You will see on the bottom right hand corner it says disney that is the copywrite mark. I'm sure someone else has more information on PP. This past Dec was my first time using it. A little adivce, when you get a picture taken by a photopass photographer ask them if he/she will be kind enough to take one w/ ur personal camera as well. That way if you don't buy them you can still have a copy from your personal camera.

You will find that the photos look pretty good - as to professional quality, they are as professional as the setups that have been preplanned for you - they are in "stations" where the background is always the same for everybody - Epcot's Spaceship Earth, THe Castle, etc - you have nothing to lose since the service is free - you can then look them up online and decide if you want any of them or not. As to giving them your personal camera, that is a smart idea but I am not sure they are allowed to do that, although the nicer cast members might. We asked that once and were firmly told that they are not permitted to do that, so we didn't ask again.

we used it last time we were there, it was very very easy just give the card to the photographer and they take pictures, most times they took a couple of shots at same location with different angles. When we got home we were able to veiw and edit (crop or add touches that are available). It was fun and we were able to share them with friends and family. I did not purchase any myself but my sisters got some of theirs.

That's not true. Maybe the CM you asked was in a bad mood.

We have used the PhotoPass service whenever we can. It has allowed us to have more photos with our whole party in the picture than if one of us had to be behind the camera.

You are under no obligation to purchase any of the photos, and there is no card for the PhotoPass card, so my advice would be to use it. You've got nothing to lose.

We have used PhotoPass several times now. Here are some of my views. Please keep in mind I did have lunch with the Imagineer whose project this is and he gave me some cool information:

1. The CMs are allowed to take pictures with your camera.

2. They are working on a bunch of enhancements, including more specific borders and more "surprise" characters that can be added to your pictures.

3. PhotoPass is really convenient in 2 specific areas, to get a nice, quality group picture and to get some very nice night shots in front of WDW icons.

4. At certain areas they can add characters; at MK in front of the Castle they will have you hold out your hands and when you see the pictures Tink will "magically" be there, at AK it is baby Simba and at MGM they had us pointing to the ground in shock and online there was Stitch breaking through the ground.

5. Individual pictures ordered online are fairly pricey; however the new CD offering can be a good deal ($99 for the CD). This past January we purchased the CD and it had 81 pictures from our stay. Those pictures and all non-commercial rights to them (including printing for our personal use) are ours and documentation stating so is included.

6. If pictures are missing, e-mail the Photo Pass people. They have a team that specifically looks for missing pictures. Info such as date, park time and even referring them to other photos there so they can look for the same face really helps. They find several of ours that were missing from Star Wars weekends.

That's all I can remember for now, but if you have anymore specific questions post and I'll help if I can.

the only problems I had last may was
1) the photographer had some trouble at Mgm while swiping the card and we ended up with a blank card.

2) we some how ended up with a picture of complete strangers holding baby simba at AK , rigt in the middle of all our other pictures. :)

But other than that.... I think Its a great idea...we didn't have to stand in any lines to look at the picture just to see if we wanted to buy plus you could choose from every shot at one time.

And just to add in, we never had any problems with cast members using our camera.

I love photo pass...you should definately use it. It's free, so you have nothing to loose!

Our last trip, however, I had a few complaints about some of our photographs. (It's free, so I really can't complain...) But, in front of Cinderella Castle, we had a group shot, and they didn't have the camera settings correct, as we ended up as an over-exposed group in front of a black background. The castle didn't come out at all. Then there's another pic in MGM, where the light meter must have been malfunctioning, as we turned out white, with horrible shadows behind us, and a cut of hat in the back. There were a few other problems with other pics, but not worth mentioning. I think they need to train the photographers better, as I was dissapointed in a lot of our pictures.

What size files are each of the photos

Can anyone who has purchased the cd rom, indicate what is the file size for each picture? I just got back from the World, I have a 170+ pictures that they took, I would like to buy them all on the cd-rom but only if pictures are of reasonably nice resolution.

The photopass photographers will certainly take pictures using your camera if you ask.
