Disney's New Restaurant Chain Partner?

Recently, McDonald's Cheif Marketing Officer announced that there will be changes to the Disney partnership, but that the company's future with McDonald's remains intact. I understand that Disney and McDonald's are going to work on terms of the next agreement. McDonald's still has about a couple years left on the 10-year agreement, but the two companies confirmed they are in discussions about the structure of the remaining deal. My inclination is, should a fallout occur between Disney and McDonald's, which fast food restaurant chain would you like Disney to create a new relationship with?

Wendy's. Like their food better.

mmm...spicy chicken sandwich...*drools*

A partnership between Disney and Wendy's would be awesome...question is would McDonalds let Disney go elsewhere so easily....

It would be YUM Brands or Burger King if a fallout happened. YUM is the second largest fast food chain (Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, Long John Slivers, and AW Rootbeer).

I dont think that they will ever lose their relationship with McDonalds, and I dont think they ever should either. Both are Great American Institutions. It feels right walking through Downtown Disney and seeing the McDonalds there for some strange reason, if it was a Taco Bell for example, I think that it would be quite tacky and it wouldnt belong.

I think Disney and McDonald's go together pretty well. But I don't think I'd complain if Disney and Sonic made a deal. Or Disney and Dairy Queen (after all, their burgers smell a lot alike). Long John Silver's might fit in nicely in the parks. Even though I enjoy Taco Bell's food, I can't imagine it at Disney.
On a personal note, I absolutely despise Arby's. I've eaten many different items there on many occasions and not once have I found anything that I liked (well, except for their imitation mocha shake...that was ok)

There aren't enough Sonics in Central Florida or the US to make it a logical choice.

I would say Burger King, after all, Disney once had a deal with them in the early 90's. That and their burgers actually look like burgers, unlike McDonald's food, which is like mystery meat or ballpark hot dogs, you have no idea what's in it. Wendy's would be good to, but the only problem for me is that the Wendy's in our area is a little out of the way, it's by the mall, while we live across town from there.

Well, if not Wendy's or a YUM establishment, I would go with Dominoes. I mean, come on, pizza and Mickey go together like peas and mucus.

McDonalds food (excluding fries, ice creams and shakes) has been a joke for a long time now. When, to their credit, they tried to launch a new line of "adult burgers," they failed.

The only thing McDonald's gives to Disney (well, other than money, obviously!) is a venue to offer "collectable" drink glasses and toys for new movies. I know people who buy the happy meals just for the toys, and throw away the so-called food. I'll bet you know people like that, too! Outside the parks, McDonalds makes the most sense to partner with Disney, because there are more McDonalds than any other restaurant nationwide. Yeah, there are lots of fast food venues with better food, including Wendys, What-a-Burger and Back Yard Burger, to name a few, but they can't match the number of restaurants on a nationwide basis.

I hate seeing the golden arches anywhere inside the parks, especially the Magic Kingdom. EPCOT has always had corporate sponsors, so it is a little easier to take seeing a "sponsored by General Motors" over there, but even that detracts from the "escape to another world" we pay so dearly for on our WDW vacations. I would love to see the McDonalds fries disappear from the Magic Kingdom. They are fine for Downtown Disney, if that is what people want.

Sorry Cherry but most people on the East side of the US know nothing of In and Out. We moved to GA from Sacto 3 years ago and miss Double Doubles like crazy!!! Well it would fit in DCA!!

I would go with the The YUM company... that way you could get something disney at each resturaunt, like i remember the starwars deal many years ago... I did have pizza hut, KFC and tokobell to get as much stuff i could get on starwars...

It would be a genious idea... thatway you could have more than one thing sponsoring something... if ever happend..... (Sonic is almost open near me, about 30 miles away in tampa... going to eat their when it opens... cannot wait for the one to start construction then open less then 2 miles away....)

Taco bell pizza hut are owned buy pepsi and I dont think Disney wants to go there.Personally I wouldnt vote for Arbys because our old assistant disney store manager works there now after being fired for stealing well over a thousand dollars, and park tickets,Arbys hired her a week later as store manager, the court only gave her a slap and all she had to do was pay restitution to Disney and 1 year probation.By the way her husband is a county police officer,Im sure that helped her.

The deal McDonalds is working out with Disney is not only for park concessions but also for the marketing of goods and toys that are realted to offerings from the Walt Dinsey Company, not just the theme parks.

McDonald's has been complaining that Disney has not put out a quality movie in some time which affects the bottom line of the number of happy meals sold. Burger King had the Shrek concessions and made money hand over fist selling kid's meals themed to Shrek and Shrek II. McDonlad's wants something in return for paying out royalties for merchandise that didn't help out the bottom line of the McDonald's corporation.
