We are going to Cedar Point, Ohio in June and I know they have the some of the fastest roller coasters around. What is or will be Disney's fastest roller coaster? How fast do some of the Disney main coasters go?
Thanks!

The fastest ride at Disney is not a coaster. Test Track hits a max speed of about 65 mph. The fastest coaster at Disney has to be Rock N' Roller Coaster, which goes from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds.

Rock N' RollerCoaster is the fastest. Does anyone know if Everest will be faster?

Max Height of Track: 120 ft
Max Drop: 80ft
Max Speed: 50mph
Trains will travel in both forward and backward directions

On a side note, WELCOME TO THE BUCKEYE STATE!

In June, that is.....and if you're not already from Ohio.

You don't go to Disney for record-breaking coasters. No Disney coaster is very intense, and the majority of them are quite tame.

Come on now, have you ever riden Goofy's Barnstormer with a screaming 4 year old? Anything but tame.

Disney is about enjoyment and theming - sure there's fast rides at WDW (R'N'R and TT) but look at the theming that goes into the pre ride show, and during. Now I'm not knocking fast coasters (I enjoy Hulk, Kraken & Duelling Dragons etc) but they're a bit bland and unimaginative when it comes to a theme - just many metres of painted iron work.

If you want speed and record breaking coasters Cedar Point is the place to go.
Top Thrill Dragster 0-120mph in 4 sec.(makes rock and roller coaster feel like a bike ride)
Millenium Force 93 mph.
Magnum 73mph.
Wicked Twister 70 mph.

Cedar Point is a great coaster park!!

Yes! I also enjoy the theme based ride when compared to straight thrill rides. And I'm always amazed at the detail that Disney puts into their rides...even while standing in line. It's something everyone can enjoy, no matter how old they are.

For those of us blessed with living in Florida, Tampa specifically. Busch Gardens opens their new coaster next month called Shiekra (?) 200' tall, 90° drop. Looks intense, can't wait to ride it!

As far as themeing a ride is concerned, I feel FastPass has all but killed it. I still haven't seen the inside of Mission: Space yet. Other than the brisk walk past it on the way to the front.

they say....the new 6 flags ride(in NJ) will be tallest and fastest in o5.

It's true, but I'd like to see how much it's actually open, since Cedar Point has had so much trouble with Dragster, and Six Flags can't seem to keep any ride open for more than a couple days, we'll see how much the ride is actually open. As many have said, Disney isn't really going to go for the overly intense rides like Cedar Point, but if you want those types of rides your going to the right place. Hope you have fun!

Yes, BUCKEYE I am from Ohio orginally. GO Ohio State Buckeyes!!! :sohappy:

ScrapIron - I did not know EE was going to be forward and backwards directions! Like the coaster ride at Kings Island if I remember correctly. BTW, Nice Avatar!

Top Thrill Dragstar is just that a dragster ride just going up in the air! Now being from a racing family, I can not wait to ride this one and see how the experience compares to the real race car. My Dad will probably say "weak".

We have not been to Cedar Point in 7 years! I use to go all the time as a kid. I am from Toledo area. I so miss the thrill rides. I absolutely love RnRC at Disney! I just fear that since becoming a Disney fanatic, Cedar Point is not going to match up. :lookaroun I will miss seeing the castle, theming and characters around the park and will probably compare CP to WDW with every word I say. My kids will be doing the same.
But we will be in WDW in July....ahhhhhh.:D

Thats pretty cool that it can go backwards how did you know that?

uh...Disney announced this when they announced the ride. It's been widely known for over a year that the train was going to have a "backwards" segment.

No. It's not going to be a shuttle coaster. It will travel forward and backward, without traveling over "old" track. I guess Universal's mummy is the closest comparison.

Think of it as Maelstrom at Norway (EPCOT) in Rollercoaster form, as far as the foward and backwards parts go.
