Just goes to show you that FICTION is always big at the box office.

Fiction? :veryconfu ... Fiction, is how some people choose to perceive the scary reality of it all.

Anywhoo... wow... for a limited release... this movie is rockin.... most of the theaters/screens near me (showing this) were sold out all weekend... I even tried to go catch the late show Saturday night in Oak Park... sold out.. I just missed it... :(

I'll catch it during the week though. :sohappy: :sohappy:

I think Disney DID do the right thing with this one. Although it's a blockbuster for its kind the movie shows views that Disney can't allow to say if they agree/disagree with. No matter how much money I think Disney did good with this one! (You see, I only bash Eisner when we talk theme park/animation buisness :D )

I have to disagree with Disney on this one. It only makes Disney look as they were succumbing (sp) to governmental censorship and from Jeb Bush, FL governor

Leaving the politics of the film aside, you have to look at the overall picture. Disney is a corporation. And as a HUGE corporation in Florida I'm sure they didn't want to release any film that would upset the status quo or their relationship with the powers that be in FL. And since the powers that be happen to be Republican and the governor is the brother of the president, releasing a film that attacks the president and his positions would be a rather unwise move corporately speaking. So, whether you consider it a right or wrong move, Disney acted like any other corporation would to protect its greater interest.

I guess it's what you choose to believe. The 9/11 Commission has already dispelled some of the inaccuracies of this movie. Anyone can take film clips and sound bites and arrange them in a way to support their side but that doesn't make it the truth. Like the saying, "Lies, D**n Lies, and Statistics".

I'm the type of person who wants to see the proof of accusations. I don't care about opinions just facts. I have my own opinion of the war in Iraq and your jaws would hit the floor if you heard it, but you won't because it's my opinion and I have no hard evidence to back me up. Suffice it to say that I don't agree with the war just like I don't agree with Moore's propaganda.

Isn't it funny how these threads are never political until someone disagrees. Duh, go figure. :hammer:

Ok thats it...Steve...sorry...can't keep my mouth shut anylonger....

So ACE you're supporting one set of opinions, calling them facts (from the 9/11 Commission) and bashing another set calling it propaganda.... :veryconfu

Question (and I don't mean any disrespect)...have you seen this film? :lookaroun

Its funny, the same people pointing at this film and crying foul, were the same people rallying to impeach Clinton on an issue that had more to do with his marraige than national security!!! If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!!! :zipit:

And please forgive me, I blew up...sorry...sorry...I'll go to my corner and sit, and think about what I've done.... :brick:

ACE, I respect you and your views...and again meant no offense to you or anyone....

There so much a person can take...

No offense taken. I'm not trying to disrespect anyone. It's like I said, "it's what you choose to believe". The 9/11 Commission is to Bush as Ken Starr was to Clinton. If they can find no wrong doing then I guess I have to believe them.

No I haven't seen the movie, but if the Dems and Reps are both saying the movie isn't true and the folks from Michigan don't support Mr. Moore then I see no need to waste my money on something that I don't know to be true. Also just to point out that some of the folks supporting this movie haven't seen it yet either.

Hey, something we agree on. Everyone has a right to their own opinion whether we agree or disagree. We just need to stay calm and civil to each other. Now let's all go have a beer.

I'm more of a moderate. I believe each side has some truth to their arguments but that doesn't mean it's all true. That's why I like to see real hard evidence to support something because both sides will tell you lies.

We're cool. I hope no one is offended by what I've said and if they are then I apologize right now. Like I said it's ok to disagree but we need to stay civil.

Oh don't be sorry. . . I'm not even someone with authority. I just wanna save this thread from politics so it won't have to be locked. . . although the subject matter of the film doesn't help much!! :D
