Alright I have always liked the "Principal" of DCA, but attraction wise the park suffered. So I have always thought of a concept that exhibits the different regions of the United States. Here is what I have so far...

Entrance: Independence Hall OR a center that exhibits the 50 states.

Pacific Coast: Paradise Pier for one part and Grizzly State for the other.

Midwest: Celebration of our nations heartland and the farming culture that goes with it.

East Coast: ?????? Need Help

South:???????

I have some ideas for the East and South but don't really no what those areas are really known for. I have my own ideas but does anyone have some input?

The East Coast could be a Boardwalk theme, sort of like Disney's Boardwalk in WDW. And/or it could feature a "big city" theme... NYC, Boston, etc etc etc.

The South could be like Disney's Port Orleans Riverside resort (mansions, Mississippi River ports, etc...). That could work if you're trying to do steriotypical architecture. Otherwise, I'm not really sure.

That is great I didn't even think of the boardwalk. And Disney was going to build a park titled Disney's America but it hit some snags and was shelved. This is a little different approach to it though.

The ideas behind Disney's America was actually converted into California Adventure. Look at the land concepts behind Disney's America and then look at California Adventure. You will see MANY parallels.

I might be sort of partial, but for the south section I think something similar to the atmosphere of downtown Savannah, GA would work great. It really conveys the classic southern atmosphere and charm you hear about. Look at some of the downtown pictures here.

I'm glad you joking because (I know I might get slammed for this) Florida isn't really part of the south. It is just geographically there.

Please leave out that cheap amusement park "Paradise Pier". It's terrible. It's one of the major reasons why DCA's attendance ist until today still far beyond expectations. People DON'T want to see typical amusement park rides in a DISNEY-Park. Walt didn't want this, he created Disneyland out of this reason in the first place and Eisner brought it into a disney-park. That's boring to most guests. They have Six Flags or similar parks for this. They come to Disney for the magic of imagineering. People come to DCA for GRR. Not to ride an old fashioned wood-style rollercoaster without ANY theming. California Screaming must be the most boring disney-coaster worldwide. And they repeated the mistake in the Dino-Rama-Area of DAK.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you. If you talk to people who have actually been to DCA I believe most of them would tell you that Calif Screaming is a more popular attraction than GRR.

Yeah I held the same opinion that Paridise Pier was a terrible place until I actually went there. California Screaming is actually a very themed Disney coaster. A state of the are LIM launch coaster themed to look just like a boardwalk wooden coaster. The only part I think could be done better is some of the other midway rides. (Mailboomer, Jellyfish)

My area would also include Paridise Point which would have a lighthouse that would serve as a Pacific Coast transition from Pier area to wooded area.
