At one point I believe the company had a brother duo. One guy was creative and his brother was the behind the scenes guy. Makes me wonder what happened to them.

No one lives foverer, nor are two people alike. We have some who reach a synergistic collaboration sometimes.

The NBA experience failed mostly because of the impact Covid had on its getting a start. Just as it opened it was shut down and never found its footing in DS. It could have made it had it been given a chance.

The NBA Experience/City has failed in both of its incarnations in the Orlando area which predates any mention of Covid. I won't be an apologist, it never had sufficient interest by paying customers to make it viable. The NBA has fans, but so do badminton and curling.

Disney was reluctant to spend the kind of money that would have kept Disney Quest updated and fresh even before the pandemic. Not a chance sonething like this ever happens under Chapek. He'd certainly rather rent the space and let a 3rd party absorb the costs of development, construction and operation.

Disney Magic outsourced.

Id should go to a disney pitch meetings and say hey why not a disney quest 2.0 but better

a bowling, arcade, water park, sports stuff, restaurant chain in one.

The NBA experience failed because Disney Guests could give 2 s**ts about the NBA. If they are smart they will repurpose the area for retail and dining.
To me, it was at best an attempt to expand the base for what a Disney guest is, and at worst it was indifference on Disney's part and they just wanted to fill the hole left by Disney Quest with someone else's money.

Up next:
"NBA: Galactic Ballcruiser is a revolutionary new 2-night experience where you are the hero. You and your group will embark on a first-of-its-kind NBA playoff adventure that’s your own. It’s the most immersive NBA game play ever created—one where you live a bespoke experience and journey further into a locker room, pre-game warmup, and sweatier game adventure than you ever dreamed possible."

The NBA Experience? Ha, ha, ha , ha, ha, haaaaaha. Covid is a convenient excuse. The NBA Experience failed because it targets a small audience in several areas, the most important being money. Like the Richard (or Tom) Petty Driving Experience. Too small an audience, too expensive.
The NBA Experience is the Bumper Sticker for the "Under New Management" and their bright ideas that make Pet Rocks and Mood Rings look absolutely brilliant!
In the words of Dr. Malcolm, "You were so enamoured with the idea that you could be a CEO that you never thought should you be a CEO."
So how much longer for AvatarLand?

The NBA Experience was too specialised, it would only really appeal to fans of the NBA and not many overseas visitors are aware of the NBA and many US guests probably aren't interested in it beyond the playoffs.
Disney Quest was neglected in it's final days. To be honest, I don't know they could update it to appeal to todays guests. Let's be honest and sorry if I sound like a broken record, but, today's younger guests aren't going to Disney for the kinds of experiences we older guests did when DQ was at it's height, they won't be interested in retro games apart from filming themselves for their YouTube channels or social media, so you can imagine how that will be, lots of people hogging machines talking to a camera or phone with a long commentary because the longer the video the more money they make.

with the nba experience going out of business could we see something that can grab all kinds of guests

in DisneyQuest 2.0? Somehow relaunch it? Disney already has some arcades but only restricted to hotels.

Where Disney already has a Dave and Busters/Round1 and thats DisneyQuests.

I think DisneyQuest 2.0 should be an arcade and restaurant chain worldwide maybe revamp some of its

old and retired IPs with unreal engine?
Been there, failed that:

NBA experience looked pitiful. The basketball hoops were blocked/surrounded by all these weird nets probably because some lawyer didn't want the ball to bounce back at people. What a joke.

Doesn't this look fun?

I feel sadder today just looking at this picture.

It doesn't help that the window set-up and colored lighting also looks like what you would find in some of the red light districts in Europe.

It's so weird for Disney to not want to, at least, put some temporary experience back at NBA while they figure some other permanent experience out. It's been almost 2 years now with nothing. I know, for a fact, that they have some arcade machines left or something lol.

Disneyquest allowed parents to drop off the kids so they could shop longer without having to hear "are we done shopping yet?" "I wanna go have fun" This is the part Disney didnt understand, Disneyquest allowed them to make more money at other places in Disney Springs by allowing parents to shop longer...and more peacefully. Anyone who lived in the late 70s/early 80s knows this is how every shopping mall operated, drop the kids off at the arcade so mom could shop
