DAY 2 cont'd
Friday 10/27/17
EPCOT! We boarded the monorail at MK & before we knew it we were at our second park for the day. We went through bag check & one of the security guards loved my "Don't believe me, ask the dishes" shirt
We headed in and too some Photo Pass photos at Spaceship Earth
Followed by some of our own photos
After photos, we rode Spaceship Earth. I had gotten a FP for it earlier in the afternoon after our last FP in MK. I love SE- we cracked up at the video of ourselves at the end
As we exited SE, I checked the app to see if there were any FP for Test Track- there weren't but the single rider line was 20 minutes! We hopped on and ended up being in the same car just different rows. Another great attraction, in my opinion!
After TT, we journeyed Into Imagination with Figment. I think he's so cute
We again, got stuck but began moving again quickly. After checking out all the Figment merchandise, we headed over to see Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival. We viewed Get A Horse, Piper and Feast. We had seen Piper a few times shown before movie trailers but we were happy to see him again- he's just too darn cute after getting washed up by the huge wave. Poor guy! Feast was our favorite of the three, what a sweet & happy story. After the films it was getting close to our dinner ADR so we started making our way over to Coral Reef. We were still a good fifteen minutes early so we walked over to ride The Seas with Nemo and Friends, which was a walk in. After a ride through the big blue world, we checked in for dinner. My parents used to take my sister & I to Coral Reef every trip but it had been a good 12 years since I had been & it was Roland's first time. It was a great dinner! We were seated at a table for two right next to the tank so we had some great views while eating. Our server Ben, was fantastic and very attentive. CR offered a prix fixe menu which was a nice option & what we decided to go with. We each ordered the heirloom tomato & mozzarella salad for an appetizer and the mahi mahi for an entree. (As you can see, our tastes are very similiar
). For dessert, I had the key lime tart & Roland went with the chocolate wave. We had a nice surprise as this came out with our dessert:
We toasted to our trip, and enjoyed our wonderful desserts & chatted with Ben awhile longer. It was a great experience all around!
After dinner we walked around for a little bit before heading to The Land. I had a FP for Soarin' for later in the week but we figured we'd check and see how long the stand-by line was- it was close to an hour so we we opted for a ride through Living with the Land, which was a walk on. I love this ride! When our boat pulled up Roland asked if it was like the boat ride from Willy Wonka
It was a nice way to relax after being on the go all day, too. Our original plans included staying for Illuminations, but again we were exhausted! I used to think nothing of spending 10+ hours on my feet in the parks all day- I guess turning 30 has turned me into an old fart
We decided to one more attraction before heading back to the resort, and we decided on Mission:SPACE. We opted for GREEN, which we thought was just the right amount of intensity for us. We waited about 10 minutes before being sent to our spacecraft. We rode with a younger boy and his mom, he told us he rode this ride at least five times and it wasn't scary at all. He then assigned each of us the different positions on our team. He was funny! It was a good last ride of the day. We made our way out of the park to our assigned bus stop, and only had to wait about 10 minutes for a bus to arrive. By the time we arrived back at Movies we were ready for second dessert, LOL. Roland had a Mickey ice cream pop & I had a sugar cookie from the food court. After our treats we watched some tv & talked about our day before going to sleep. We were getting up early for our big day in ANIMAL KINGDOM!
