disneymike93's 79th Disney Vacation at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas at Jambo House

Well tomorrow (June 9th, 2010) is the beginning of yet another wonderful trip to Walt Disney World! This will be trip #79 and as always, we are just as excited as if we were taking our first trip to WDW :)!

We will be staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas at Jambo House. As a family, we much rather prefer Jambo House over Kidani Village, mostly because we feel more "in the middle of it all" at Jambo House. We booked a Savanna view room which is exciting for us because of the two other times we've stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we've always had a pool view. We requested a Zebra Trail room facing the Arusha Savanna (close to the lobby of course!). Hopefully it's granted upon arrival.

We will be here for 6 nights and our Priority Seatings are as follows:

6/09/10: Chef Mickey's
6/10/10: Tutto Italia
6/11/10: Cape May Cafe
6/12/10: Jiko
6/13/10: 'Ohana
6/14/10: no ADR (most likely a counter service at a park)

We also plan on doing Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon since it's our summer trip :)

I'll be posting more upon arrival!

Hello everyone~

I just wanted to start updating my TR. We've been so busy and I haven't even hooked up my laptop to the internet in the room until just now (Day 3). We are having such a wonderful time at WDW. Here is sum up of Day 1.

Day 1 6/9/10: We arrived at approximately 12:00 p.m. Our room wasn't quite ready yet so we took the time to go to DTD and renew our annual passes that had recently expired. We received a text message saying that our room was ready at around 2:00 p.m. Even though I had requested the Zebra Trail, they put us in the Kudu Trail. I had also requested out room to face the Arusha Savanna and that was granted. Our room is great! GREAT location on the Kudu Trail very close to the lobby. It made up for not being on the Zebra Trail. I walk outside my door go about 20 feet down the hallway and were right at the lobby on the 5th floor. We went to Epcot following settling into our room, rode a couple of rides before it was time to head to the Contemporary Resort for a dinner a Chef Mickey's. We had requested (as always) our dear friend who is a waitress at Chef Mickey's to wait on us. We have been coming to CM for 15 years. We came the night they opened on the first day Chef Mickey's was completed in December 1994. It opened on the same day as my son's 1st birthday. She was our waitress the second time we ate at CM also and we've had her ever since for over 15 years! She has become a close family friend when we travel to WDW and eat at Chef Mickey's.

Day 2 6/10/10: We woke up for an 8:30 breakfast reservation at Ohana and went to the Magic Kingdom at around 10:00. It was surprisingly uncrowded for the first few hours we were there. We had a very nice lunch at the Plaza Restaurant on Main Street USA before heading back to AKV Jambo House for a swim. That night it was back to Epcot for a dinner at Tutto Italia. Even though it has the same ambiance as Alfredo's, I so much liked it better when it was Alfredo's. We concluded our meal just in time for IllumiNations (my favorite firework show).
