Who exactly decides that buffets go away? The rate at which people eat and go out even in this pandemic, I'm willing to bet buffets would make a killing if reopened.

For the record, I don't care either way since I don't go to buffets and enjoy being slim.

For the popcorn-consuming viewing pleasure of @TP2000:

This just in from my county: "Every county has its own unique set of circumstances when it comes to battling the coronavirus and this county is more than capable of implementing reopening plans under the competent guidance of its own county health officer. The situation on the ground today is no longer a statewide crisis and the governor should relinquish control back to the counties in accordance with state law.”

The county supes are getting feisty up in here. :D

Your post from a few days ago inspired me to make the call as well.

2 solid minutes, no voicemail as you reported.

And here I am working front desk at a Marriott where I get in trouble if I don't answer within three rings

3 rings is about right for where I work too, but if I am out and around doing general office assistant stuff then on of the assistants will see me away from a phone and pick it up for me, I don't get in trouble or anything. That must be pretty stressful.

So gang, I guess it's up to us to come up with a new advertising campaign for the Disneyland Resort.

How about a slogan...?
Every promotional campaign usually includes a snappy slogan.

So let's hear some suggestions.
Mickey and the Two Bobs are counting on us!

"It's time to RAMP up the fun again so come join us on the Millenium Falcon Ramp as we blast off into fun as we re-open!"

Off the top of my head...

Disneyland Resort - We Wipe Down Handrails Now!

Disneyland Resort - By Reservation Only.

Disneyland Resort - Temperature Checks Included!

Disneyland Resort - Fantasmic!, Parades, and World of Color Were Kind Of Overrated. Who Needs 'Em?!

Nope.

I'm serious, if Captain Kidd's Adventure Buffet gets through this horrific national crisis and reopens a few months from now with a suspiciously empty voicemail like nothing happened, I am going to be furious!
The strange thing is we drove by there the other day and it appeared they were open, not sure how that works with take out only.

Soupplantation has announced they will not reopen because even if regulations allowed for self service food items (which they don't in most areas), they don't think the demand will be there before they would go bankrupt.

I can't wait for the famous AHORA! videos made by the interns working Disney Parks Blog to make a comeback as soon as the park reopens.

If Burbank and TDA bosses know their business well enough, those types of clumsy and corny marketing gimmicks won't be coming back.

When Disney was fat and happy and raking in Billions of profits every quarter from their parks, they could afford the wasteful luxury of the Disney Parks Blog and their cubicle army in Celebration puking up pablum.

But if and when Disney's parks reopen in this country, it's going to be extremely lean for at least a couple of years. There are obviously going to be massive layoffs in the thousands in both Anaheim and Orlando. Save as much of the in-park experience as possible; entertainment, attractions, any Cast Member in a uniform with a nametag.

But the armies of unseen cubicle drones wasting money in Celebration and Anaheim office parks all should be let go. Maybe they can get their jobs back in 2024 or 2026. But 2021 is not the year to employ useless cubicle drones.

I wanna see 'George Lucas On A Bench ' do more video commentary as soon as the Parks open.
His series was fantastic....with completely honest commentary.
Just what we need in today's times!

And I promise my long awaited vlog will finally leave blue sky development and enter the pre pre production phase once the parks are reopened. I have a number of episode ideas ready...

In the long run, while I really really hope none of my friends lose their jobs, a 'thinning out' and restructuring of the Anaheim resort to help it run more efficiently and to allow decisions to be made and implemented quicker might not be a bad thing. I'd love for Disneyland to be ran with the freedom and autonomy of, say, Knott's- though I know this is a pipe dream.
