Have faith and patience. Anaheim isn't Orlando. A bird in the hand is always nice; but, their birds in the bush actually come to fruition and don't take years to develop. The information that leaks out of Anaheim is usually solid.
Paint the Night is happening. I haven't heard a peep about Soundsational leaving. The crowd control team leads I spoke with in August were discussing how busy their days will be next summer with 2 Soundsational parades, Paint the Night, Fantasmic, and fireworks. The idea for the 60th celebration is to jam pack as much fun as possible into the resort. Unfortunately, the budgets for new rides and attractions didn't get approved to make the celebration have more; but, what is coming should still be of quality.
Paint the Night
Steve Davison's new pyro show
Fantasyland's dark rides refurbs
World of Color 2.0
All of these items are in motion towards development currently. My guess is that there will be a big press conference to announce all of these in the next few months. There really is no urgency to announce much sooner than that. Disneyland Resort's engine isn't based on getting everyone locked in 180+ days out like WDW is. Operational hours aren't even made public until a month and a half out. In terms of the 60th celebration, which will be summer based, Disneyland is more-or-less operates near capacity anyway. Driving up demand now isn't needed.
All good things come to those who wait in Anaheim.
All people have nothing more to do than wait in Orlando. "Don't worry guys... there's a great big beautiful tomorrow... or maybe the day after tomorrow... actually, just check back in maybe 2016 or so."
