Disneyland vs WDW for baby's first trip

DLR > WDW. For the very reasons you stated yourself. Also, getting from point A to B is much easier done at DLR
Pretty tough to say a park without EPCOT and AK is decidedly better.

DCA doesn't really have much that WDW doesn't have somewhere (in one form or another such as Grizzly = Kali, etc).

so the Mrs. is expecting our first child!!!!

For those that don't know, we're huge Disney lovers, been over a total of 60 times between the both of us

So we agreed to take our child when it's very little. However, I want to do DL and she wants to do WDW.

To me, I think with an infant/toddler, DL makes more sense. It's smaller, so less rushing around. Not only that, but no humidity in CA. I think just with the humidity alone, we're lucky if we get 2 hours at WDW with the baby before we need to take it back to the room.

Anyone here care to venture an opinion?
Congratulations to you and your wife! What an exciting time. I really don't have much of an opinion since I've only been to WDW and don't have kids yet. Whatever you decide, enjoy and love every minute!!! DH and I plan to bring our future little one when the time comes. You've got me thinking forward fondly :joyfull:

The original poster asked if DLR or WDW was better with infants/toddlers. Each resort has its own strengths, number of parks notwithstanding.

My kids are all older, but if I had a little one I'd pick Disneyland for the weather. As much as I love Disney World, it's TOO HOT, unless of course you go in cooler weather. If you're talking about a newborn, I'd stay home.

We took my two youngest (who are now 17/18) to Disneyland when they were 3/4, and we took a two day train ride from Michigan! Our oldest son was 12 and wanted to go on a real train. Now there's a trip experience. Try keeping two rambunctious boys entertained while confined in a train for two days.

In my opinion either is great. We took both boys to WDW when they were 1, and have that Mickey nose eating photo someone spoke about earlier. It was a classic Disney moment as his grandfather held him and leaned him over for the "bite". But, if I'd pick one to take a baby it would probably be DL. Easier walks since the parks are smaller and closer together. Faster to get back to the room when they need some down time, etc...
