You can also read about the weirdest thing to ever happen to Rain by purchasing a Premium Membership, since she already posted about it there. :lookaroun

(I think this might all be a plot by her to drive up PML membership.)

Alright, here we go. As Rain has orphaned this poor trip report while leaving a very large cliffhanger unresolved, I'm taking charge....at least as far as the cliffhanger goes. (The TR she can finish herself, around 2014.)

So...a little background. Back around Christmas 2005, Rain and her then-beau had a picture taken at Mickey's Very Merry. But — gasp and horror! — when the photo arrived in the mail, there was something a little...off...about it.

The original post, from 3 years ago:

I got the MVMCP picture in the mail yesterday... and I just thought I'd share with all of you what a cute couple we make. :D

Everybody say "awwwwww"

:hammer:

Obviously (or obviously if you know her) Rain is not a small Asian woman. She was also not dating a rather intimidating-looking large man who appeared to frighten her whenever they posed for a picture. This became a running joke on the site, before appearing to disappear into silly obscurity forever.

But THEN....Rain visited Disneyland. What happened next must be seen to be believed!

(Dramatic tension whipped back up yet?) :lookaroun

About a month ago, this rather cryptic post showed up behind the premium curtain, under the title "Guess who I ran into at Disneyland??"

You are NEVER going to believe this...

At this point, Rain kinda pulled something similar to what she did out here and disappeared for a while, leaving everybody to wonder what the crap this was about.

I will now re-enact this by filling the rest of this post with useless, time-wasting smilies while you all anxiously await an explanation.

After leaving her PML friends to twist in the wind and post "Could it be them?? That's impossible! How did you find them??" for a while, Rain finally offered a bit by way of explanation...although to be honest, the story almost works better without it.

It was actually my roommate that recognized them!! We saw them after coming off of the train at main street station. She goes "Ummm... Rain.. you know who those people look like??" And I go "Ummm.. that is THEM!!!" We followed them around for a bit... trying to take some on the sly pictures... and eventually we decided to actually go up and talk to them. They barely spoke English... but we asked them if they were in WDW three years ago for a Christmas party... they said yes... and they said they had problems with their picture too. They said something about getting someone else's picture... I said it was probably me!!!

How insane... that this happened on the other side of the country!!! We were laughing sooooo hard we could hardly stand it... that was seriously the craziest thing EVER!!! I have no idea what the chances of that are.

So there you have it. Don't ask me how the rest of her trip went, but there's the highlight, straight from the Twilight Zone.

Oh my goodness! That was definitely worth the wait! Thank you so much for clearing that up Wilt. I literally have tears rolling after seeing the 2nd pic and seeing it was the same couple!! :ROFLOL:

Nicole can be reassured that my old butt stayed alive long enough to hear the story of the young whippersnappers, lol!

You rock Wilt!

That was awesome...one of the greatest stories I've read. Wilt and Rain, the way you told the story made it even better.

Thank you both for sharing!

I was at DLR in May over Mother's Day weekend and never encountered a single broken down ride. It's just luck of the draw, I guess. I go to WDW many (MANY) times a year and never encounter a broken down ride. Strange as it is.

I loved the DLR. I kinda miss it, actually. Loved the small-town quality feel of it all.
