Disneyland Tours

I'll be heading out to the Left Coast and the Disneyland Resort in a couple weeks. I want to do one of the tours offered, but am having a difficult time choosing.

I've done the segway tour at Epcot. It was an awesome time, but I think I want to go a different direction at DLR. So, I am waffling between the Happiest Haunts Tour and A Walk in Walt's Footsteps. I think hearing some of the haunted legends and stories would be fun, but I'd also LOVE to get inside Club 33 even if it is just the lobby.

Has anyone done one of these? What are your thoughts? Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks all!!

We'll be down on mid-October. I've been tossing around the idea of the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour. It strikes me as very similar to the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour at MK. I'm also in your shoes when it comes to getting a peek at Club 33. It'll probably be the only chance I ever have to see it! Also, being a Disney buff, I can't wait to see some of the history behind Walt's personal creation.

On a side note, does anyone know where the lunch is served now that the Disney Gallery is closed?

I did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour last September. Being such a Disney Fan I don't think I really learned much but I had a great time chatting with the tour guides and other guests on the tour. Some of the highlights I remember are you get lunch and a pin, and see a Tiki bird up close. As you mentioned you do step into the lobby of Club 33 but to me that wasn't really very interesting.

If I had the choice I would choose the Happiest Haunts Tour. Especialy since Halloween is just around the corner.

PS - Our lunch was not served in the Gallery but instead at a reserved table just outside the exit to Pirates.

Would the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" be appropriate for a 9 year old? Does any part of this ruin the magic? :lookaroun

WDW has an age restriction of 16 for just that reason on most of it's tours. DL does not specify as I remember, but that would be up to you. Much of the tour is conversation which may bore some (adults as well) and there can be some backstage time. You know your child better than any, so you would really be the best to decide. As a general rule, I would say no for under 14-15.
