The Sci-Fi City idea would be an extremely watered down version of Tokyo Disneyland's original plans for Tomorrowland.

Sci-Fi land:

Area- Sci-Fi land's area would be a mix of a completely original look as well a bit of New Tomorrowland mixed in. The feel would be mainly 50's future with large advertising billboards and gleeming metal arches. The original spires adorning the entrance area would all be removed and replaced with futuristic architecture. All murals in the entrance area would be removed and the remaining areas repainted and fitted with a newly constructed wall. The large spaceship next to Space Mountain would be automatically taken out to make way for some other surprises.

Journey Through Innerspace- Replacing Star Tours would be Journey Through Innerspace. The attraction would be an exagerated look at shrinking. The queue would be designed to look like a space lab studying molecules. After boarding the omnimover system you are 'transported' into Innerspace. Guests would start out by passing by a projected group of molecules. As they get closer they soon encounter a 50 ft. tall proton, a massive LED model that hums and pulses as you travel past. The rest of the journey takes guests through the fantastic world of miniturazation. The gift shop exit would play a synthesized version of Miracles From Molecules.

The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter- Returning from WDW is Alien Encounter, a sensory thriller by George Lucas. The queue would lead guests past various X-S Tech technology and allow guests to get a first hand look at what is in store for them. A brief pre-show leads guests to the main chamber where they encounter first hand the wonders of X-S teleportation. Unfortunately, something goes wrong and guests are terrorized by an extremely hungry alien. The show would be an updated version of the orginal version. Alien Encounter would be held in the former Buzz Lightyear building.

The Intergalactic Raceway- Autopia would receive a major rehab with a new paint job, new vehicles, expanded raceway, and a musical score.

SciFi City Transit System- The peoplemover would return in the form of gyroballs. Each vehicle would allow guests to spin around for a 360 degree view of SciFi city. At night the vehicles would glow to light up the streets of SciFi City.

Galactic Petting Zoo- Replacing the current terrace theater would be the galactic petting zoo. Children would be able to touch and interact with tons of fun, yet strange animals.

Planet Orbiter- Replacing the Orbitor is the Orbiter. This futuristic design resembles Hong Kong's Orbiter and would be located atop the Transit System building.

Discovery Mountain- Space Mountain and it's surrounding building would be torn down and rebuilt as Discovery Mountain, the most unique 'mountain' in any Disney park. The design and inside look would resemble Paris Disney's original plans for De La Terre Luna. Guests could choose various attractions upon entering the mountain. Above their heads would pass the transit system as well as the main coaster. The pavilion would feature three main attractions, each housed in their own area inside the mountain. The first attraction, From The Earth To The Moon, would be a coaster loosely based off of Disneyland Paris's old attraction. The coaster would leave the mountain and zoom up a cannon back in. The attraction would stay mostly inside however, it would occasionally leave and speed around the exterior. The second attraction, UFO Field, would be a small bumper car attraction with a twist. Instead of cars, guests ride UFOs and instead of riding the floor, guests's UFOs are floating several inches off the ground using special air technology. The third, and final attraction would be Stitch Live, a Tokyo import.

Plectu's Fantastic Galactic Revue- Replacing Innoventions is a long proposed stage show featuring several alien characters. The show would be a theater in the round much like Carousel Of Progress. The duration would be 25 minutes.

I likey. Adventures Through Interspace has always interested me. I have searched all over the place for a complete ride through and still haven't found one, if one exists at all...

I do find your obsession with bringing Alien Encounter back interesting, although I still think it wasn't that great to begin with. I guess we can agree to disagree there, although I do admit I would rather have AE than SGE...

If you think my obsession with bringing back Alien Encounter is interesting you should see my obsession with Timekeeper....:lookaroun

btw: I remember a site that has a virtual ride-through of ATIS as well as several pictures and a video clip.

I watched all of those. It's a shame that there isn't a full real ride through of it. That's what's awesome about YouTube nowadays is that you can watch ride throughs of older attractions whenever you want to. I did that once all day... It was especially nice to watch Food Rocks again... :)

Youtube really is helpful. I really am surprised that there isn't a ATIS video floating around though.

I've searched for one several times. I've found some very brief sections and the loading dock a few times, but that is it. :(

I'm pretty sure that is just about the only ride through you can't find on YouTube because pretty much everything else from any park is up there.

I really am surprised no one taped this. You would think that cameras hadn't been invented yet. Still glad I can watch Timekeeper on Youtube.:D

I've seen/heard about the "Sci-Fi City" concept and picture before, but where is the Discovery Mountain picture from? That can't be an early sketch of Tokyo Disney Sea (TDS came out a heck of a lot better)? It almost looks like a Jules Verne version of JP over at IOA, with the flying machine thing in the picture...

It was planned for Discoveryland over at DLP. The priject was to feature the signature coaster as well as a version of Epcot's Horizons. The budget was scrapped and we ended up with De La Terre Luna: Space Mountain.
