Whoa!
Great find! It's so weird, I heard Robert Picardo interviewed, lamenting how his role as the holographic doctor (which is the lead in Borg 4D) would be ended and how sad it was to have an attraction made after you closed. And no mention of this. This gives me hope, but the whole centralized nature and immersion with DS9, Quark's Bar, museum, and both rides together still may never be duplicated I fear. Particularly since they decided to replicate the attraction that is far cheaper and requires less staffing.
I may have financing in hand but my dbf is not sure he wants to go :fork:
Dude, really, is he only a partial fan? Not at all? That teleport thing knocks the socks off everyone. The cast switch roles, but keeping a straight, stern face while watching 15 jaws drop in unison every few minutes has got to be on of the highlights. Maybe you could tempt him with the Bellagio art and fountains, Caesar's Palace beauty, a show?
Or, the simple solution, take me!
With relating it to CMs, the cast there really love their jobs from what I've read. Some have even used the sets to create their own videos after closing, some are on youtube. The Klingons and Ferengi (and now Borg) that meet and greet really ham it up. Saw a clip of one guy trying to get a photo of mock arm wrestling with a Klingon - the Klingon then proceeds to make the guy do a stupid pose to humiliate him instead and then offers a "message for the people at home" to the cameraman - "get off the couch."
A Ferengi inquired my mom whether she had some contraband in her purse she wanted to offload too.
While the ending of the now-denied-by-casinos "family friendly" age of the 90's is part to blame, I really think Cedar Fair just runs everything into the ground (except its exemplary (as amusement parks go) Cedar Point), perhaps to make it look good in comparison. They were sitting on a CM-like dedicated cast who really love their jobs, and something really unique. Such a shame.
