I'm curious, does this mean tearing down the current structures or simply changing the turnstiles? I could see a complete rebuild for Disneyland's gates since they're so simple, but DCA's is much more of an actual structure and is still relatively new.
The permits all mention "Install New Overhead Shrouds." - so whatever that means.

They literally did.
I got my Magic Key magic band when they were a free gift with any purchase (no price limit) for several weeks last year. I know plenty of people who got several.It's good because it saves me phone battery. But it's a pain because you have to charge it for any of the bells and whistles to work and because it feels stupid to wear a watch and a magic band. But again, wearing a watch saves phone battery, so...

Lol. Free is better! $9.99 ain’t bad though. Don’t think they’re worth $40… not yet. Maybe if I can tap it on the cool tap style. That might do it haha

It was this one. Got it for $10 or 15.
Not ugly, but would look odd in most circumstances. So I got a black geometric decal to go over it.

To me, having to charge a MagicBand would defeat the purpose of a MagicBand.
The MB I got for free at WDW in 2017 didn't require charging, but the new ones do? So much for "progress."

Can you trust the Magic Band to pull the right lightning lane/ multiple experience pass/ child switch return times etc? For example if I have multiple experience passes and a genie + return time. Is it smart enough to pull the G+ return time and not the multiple experience pass? When I use my phone I’m in control.

Maybe they deliberately made this year's events and entertainment look so unappealing to make this construction as painless as possible?

I'm sure the gates will have MB support. They're too invested in trying to make MBs a bicoastal trend.

I would certainly hope so. What's the point of a MB if you can't even use it to expedite park entry?

Good, I like these.
On a side note, can they get rid of all the old manual turnstiles that still exists in many of the attractions queues too please. Like why do any of the FL attractions, or even JC, still have the old turnstiles in the queue at this point. I was happy when they removed them from HM, they need to remove them from all remaining attractions at this point.
