The tallest spire of Sleeping Beauty Castle was designed as a covert rocket ship in partnership with NASA. Walt would have reportedly used it if war broke out so that he could travel to space and ingrain himself among the alien population on Mars. Mission to Mars was based on this true story.

And another one: Did you know the Haunted Mansion used to be a restaurant? It was called “the Chicken Plantation of the Sea Pirate Ship” and it used to sail on the River of Disneyland. Passengers would catch REAL fish from the river and then the staff would cook it right there on board! Unfortunately, the vessel was dropped by a crane in a dry dock accident and was eventually repurposed as the façade for the Haunted Mansion. It housed the short-lived walkthrough version of the attraction until it closed in 1959, when the ride version from the New York World’s fair was shipped over and installed in its place. The Haunted Mansion was the very first attraction to make use of Disney’s Audio Animotionics figures.

At one point, the boards were much more heavily tilted towards intelligent discussions instead of random, non sequitur "ironic" topics and commentary.
