Disneyland Planning DVD?

So, I have the Walt Disney World planning DVD, not to actually plan a trip, but just for fun. But what I really want is a Disneyland planning DVD.

The problem:

I've been to the Disneyland website and couldn't find a single thing regarding a planning DVD. Does anyone here know anything about if one actually exists, and if it does, where i can order one? I'm pretty sure they have one... I think I've seen it mentioned here somewhere...

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't bother wasting your time even filling out the form to get the DVD. It's horrible. It's 8 minutes long and looks like "My First DVD". It's nothing like Disney World's. I did the same thing you're doing, just to see what it's like for kicks, and wow, I'm the one who got kicked. It is Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, right?

It's still worth the collectibility. Disneyland very rarely even offers a planning video. Besides the price is right.

Don't have high expectations about the Disneyland DVD.

It LOOKS like the WDW DVD as far as packaging, but it's just a bad DVD recording of a 8-minute commercial (a bunch of TV spots spliced together). And that's it - 8 minutes and very little actually about Disneyland.

I say "bad" DVD recording because it was made by someone on a consumer PC (like what I'm using to type this). I don't know if you've ever watched a DVD someone burned, but unless you make a custom menu (which I always do) you get a generic menu that has a bunch of empty spots in it. In the case of the Disneyland DVD, it uses one of these menus - one of the slots has the commercial in it, and the rest of them are empty, like someone literally made it on a home PC and sent it off to be replicated.

I was so excited to recieve it too - but it really was terribly disapointing. Very unprofessional (not just the content, but again not even a custom menu saying "Disneyland") and especially compared to the expansive, impressive WDW DVD.

LOL very true.

Looks like I took too long to reply, as someone else basicly said what I did two posts before. :)

Love tabbed browsing, but sometimes I forget to refresh. ;)

Collectibility, very true. But why is it that Disney puts forth so much effort on promotions for Disney World, while Disneyland is left in the doghouse. I can totally understand from an economic point of view that Disney World is by a far a much more superior park as far as things to do and guest visitation numbers. But, to almost publically indirectly say that Disneyland is second rate by showing so little effort in promoting Disneyland surprises me.

Yes, I too was horribly diasspointed by the Disneyland DVD. Really awful, considering the occassion. Then again, as was mentioned, "the price was right."

Hopefully by this time next year there will be a "real" DL DVD.

This DVD must be a new development, as we have one from maybe two years ago that's about a half-hour long with a CM hosting and giving a guided tour. It was really fun to watch.

I got the DVD. Ordered it off of my TiVo. I'd be embarassed to give a DVD of this quality to my mom let alone millions of disney fans who you're expecting to pay huge prices for a fairly short experience. Youd think they'd hand the project over to someone professional. Or even give it to the fans because im sure most of us would do a better job for free since we seem to be more disney fans than the dvd producer.

Agreed.

I have a side business making DVDs of rare material/public domain work (non-Disney) and my DVDs look like big-scale studio productions compared to theirs.

This thread is really the wrong place for this board. But I can answer your question. They DO have a DVD of a "DLR 50th" but it's about ten minutes long and they barely touch upon ANYTHING. After DH and I watched it, were where shocked and confused. It seemed so "thrown together" that I could have made the DVD but cutting and placing, and doing a voice over. Believe me, the DVD isn't worth the time to watch. Just go to webpages/message boards and they can assist you on planning your trip.
