Disneyland officially reopening April 30th

One other thing I'm surprised isn't getting more attention, and that I think is going to be a HUGE problem both short-term and long-term, is this little nugget of info that George posted here last night from the CM union...

So between 30% and 60% of the CM's that Disneyland was recalling back to restart the park are gone. Moved on with their lives after a year of not working there. They've got new jobs that pay better and treat them better, or they just started a new chapter of their life that doesn't involve being a CM any longer. That's not surprising in the least, but it's disastrous for trying to restart the park even at reduced capacity. Much less hopefully ramp up to 100% capacity during the rest of this year.

This seems like a mess that will really impact Disneyland's ability to recover quickly!
Or... from what I've heard anecdotally (from both CA and FL) - people were getting called back to work in different areas and they wanted to wait to return to their usual work area. If enough people don't respond to the first callback, they may still have to settle for whatever they get, however.

Others may also be waiting to get vaccinated first.

That said, I also know people who gladly responded to their callbacks and others excited and looking forward to their turn.

Sorry, Cher, your Sonny is still trying to:

Re: the Blue Bayou discussion -

I saw some interesting speculation on another site that suggested the reason the restaurant is not reopening immediately - with or without the ride - is because it might be considered part of ride/building capacity?

No idea if that's true but thought it was an interesting notion.

I think they're getting desperate because they called me today. I will not be returning to Disney and I will also not be returning the jacket.

Posted where and by whom?

It was mentioned in most of the articles posted today, including the one posted in the other thread. But just in case:

Blue Bayou won’t return as soon as Disneyland reopens on April 30. A reopening date for the restaurant has not yet been announced.

Isn't JC suppose to reopen at least for a little bit with the park? Or are they keeping it closed for the refurb?

I would be shocked if any attraction with decent capacity, particularly outdoor ones will be closed. Because the 15 percent allowance is based on 15 percent of what is available. That would be a big chunk of people with money they would not be letting in.

Orange County is in the Orange Tier, so it would be 25% capacity. And 35% if it makes it to the Yellow Tier before April 30th, which is very possible.

But yes I agree, I have long suspected at this point that almost every Attraction with the exception of Subs would be reopening.

Subs, meet and greet locations and venues closed as well as reduced capacity on indoor seating attractions(Star Tours etc...)means it is really starting at that 15 percent capacity either way.

Haunted Mansion is going to have some nightmare capacity considering the fact that they can't bypass like Disney world does due to the elevator.
