Disneyland Hotel Condition?

Anyone stayed at the Disneyland Hotel recently? I'm going to be in Anaheim for a business conference at the Convention Center in mid-April and I chose the Disneyland Hotel for my stay for this visit.

After doing that, I read a bunch of reviews suggesting that the hotel was in need of some TLC. Most of those reviews were a couple of years old so I'm just wondering if that is still the case or if it's been freshened up recently.

Personally, I love the hotel, but the last time I stayed there was in June 2005, so I have no idea of its present condition. When I was there last, everything seemed to be in pristine order.

There have been reports that they will be completely overhauling the hotel in the near future.

We just stayed there in December. We stayed in the main tower. I can't remember what they changed the name to. Our rooms were ok. Not in the best condition, not in the worst condition. Just kind of eh. But the hotel grounds were really nice.

We were just there in January and at Christmas and will be going back at the beginning of April. Just cannot stay away. ;)

The Hotel is in need of a little TLC. And it is going to get it.

Disneyland Hotel is planning a huge refurb for the whole hotel. What I have heard is that they will do it building by building. They are going to freshen up everything and fix what needs to be fixed.

I LOVE the DL Hotel, it is my fave as it is so well themed and has the magic that is in the Park as well. But the grand old lady is old and has not been refurbed for along, long time. It should be happening in the next couple years. I just hope they do NOT change the theming.

We always stay at the DL Hotel, we love it and have no desire to stay elsewhere. The service is great and the Concierge Lounge is wonderful. All the CMs are the best! We just love the ambience and how we feel when we are there looking out over the Neverland pool or over DtD and watching the fireworks from our room up high in the Dreams (Sierra) Tower.

They did rename the towers. The Marina Tower is now Magic, Bonita Tower is now Wonder and Sierra is Dreams. I guess the name change does along with the Year of a Million Dreams and the whole Disney magic, wonder and dreams thing.

Personally, I liked the original names. Bonita was named after Bonita Granville. She was married to Mr.Granville of Granville's Steakhouse, now known as Steakhouse 55. Lots of name changes for what reason, I do not know.

Yes, the grounds are still very nice, but I have not seen the Water Show there for a very long time. I miss that. I love the waterfalls and koi ponds. I think some of those koi are the original fish, they are so big and old.
We love Goofy's Kitchen, it is a great place for one of the best character meals on property and the buffet is good, lots of choices. It is still the most fun hotel of the three, I think. I just could not think of not staying there.

When they started the big re-hab about pre- Sept 11, they were REALLY supposed to spiff it up. It was supposed to be a Neverland Hotel top to bottom. They only half finished it. They did do the pool and upgrade the rooms with the minimum theming. They downscaled how fairytastic the whole thing was to be. But it is supposed to be nice.

I was there last June and I loved the place. It feels every bit like a WDW resort to me, not just a "hotel". The location is fantastic and the price is quite a bit less than the Grand. If you're going to stay at a Disney hotel, this is the one.

Wow, I've never heard this kind of review before. I'm glad it's not as bad as some make it out to be.
