Guess the show gets stopped now if the Malificient lift doesn't work? It's interesting to see the F! logo come up on the water screens when it's e-stopped tho.

Not that Maleficent lift is broken, they have a "c-mode" for it where she runs around on stage, but in this case you'll notice they didn't even have that. Just no Maleficent at all - my guess is they thought the lift was working so she was strapped into it ready to go and they didn't notice it was broken until too late - at which point there was no time to unstrap and prep for c-mode so they had to cancel.

Yeah know about the C-mode which has been discussed here plenty.

But even before when the lift suddenly breaks or stops during the actual segment, the show would continue as is. Either she just stays level with the stage and never rises or just never appears and stays below the stage. Mickey just fights against an invisible force then lol.
Those never warranted full e-stops before. Things could have changed since then I guess.

Yes, but my guess is this was a show-not-critical day. When it's show-critical (certain amount of dining packages sold, mainly) they run it without her. But if it's show-not-critical, they have the freedom to cancel it for something like this. What I've been told by a show tech I know is that they always want to cancel it if something like this happens, but Park Ops doesn't let them

Insiders have suggested they are for at least a year now, which tracks for designing and building a massive new animatronic. Surprised we haven't heard anything officially though
"insiders" implies multiple people have been talking about this, but you originally started this rumor "at least a year" ago:

there has been quite a bit you've been right about, and i commend you for that, but i think you should let this one go

Yeah....I don't think DL is even trying......

I can verify insider reports. However, from what I’ve heard it’ll debut summer of 2026…. Something to do with budgets allocated every 10 years for attractions/shows. This was supposed to happen 2 years ago, but COVID nerfed all Disneyland’s plans and put everything on hold.

Keep an eye on what’s happening to WDW with all the new shows they are working on and showing off. Disneyland’s entertainment budget is coming.

So...Hopefully we get the Dragon before the 70th ends.....

If there's more Entertainment coming just the Dragon is MH getting replaced? Granted, MH and PTN really isn't used much to warrant Replacements....

In WDW, DHS and MK should have a Spectacular Summer!! DHS looks more ready at the moment.....

Hopefully? I don’t know if they’re planning another “Summer Nightastic” in 2026 as a summertime offering but from what I’ve heard it’ll be an updated show, new scenes, an updated score, new lighting, new fountains, new show director and of course a new dragon.

The show director of HKDL’s Momentous is helming this iteration (already announced I think a year ago?) and I’m super excited to see him not Steve Davison the show. The current iteration is so embarrassingly bad and Disney Parks creative knows this. Hopefully they won’t screw the pooch on 3.0.

All we need is a Dragon...Peter Pan's return to F! Is a good thing.....IDK if we need F! 3.0..... DL can't even use MH in addition to the 70th Cavalcade!

Disneyland doesn't need to reinvent the wheel. Bring back the '92 show but with new state of the art effects and you have a winner.

Let World of color and fireworks and parades be where they get to mess around.

But there was something so unique and special about Fantasmic! That has been lost on modern Disneyland entertainment.
