Disneyland Fantasmic Dragon Engulfed in Flames

So pyro has been somewhat consistent, the main stage lift seems to be out of commission (somewhat?) since Mickey is not moving from the rooftop to the stage at the end of the show.

Is there any new developments on a new dragon?

:(. The show is a shadow of its former self.

I'll be seeing it on May 16, the first day of DL's 70th anniversary. Will it be improved by then? 🤷‍♂️
One would hope, all eyes that day will be on Paint the Night & Wondrous Journeys’ return and World of Color Happiness’ debut, to spread crowds a little more they’d need a dragon return.

No down time is scheduled for F! right? No Insider but I don't think DL can restore F! without a Referb........

All new to me. My first visit. Looking forward to all of it, even if Fantasmic is not at its best self. By then, I'll have seen the HS version only three days earlier on 5/13.

I think the DHS version currently playing is the best version of Fantasmic I’ve ever seen. Vintage 60th anniversary DL version is #2.

However, the Peter Pan segment is by far my favorite scene in any Fantasmic.

F! will be down a couple of days to install the new dragon right before the 70th anniversary begins. The new dragon being built in England, will not line up to the specs delivered by the US crew because they forgot to convert inches into mm.

If you know, you know.
Sarcasm? Or will we see F! on the Referb Schedule????

One thing I found out, unlike HS, Fantasmic is NOT daily at DLP. In April-May, at least, it's closed Monday-Thursday with performances Friday-Sunday. The months below is only for 60 days out. Being that DL 70th starts 5/16, it will be interesting to see whether Monday 5/19 is available or still blocked out. I'll be on the lookout tomorrow which is 60 days out.

It will most likely still be Fri-Sun. They don’t usually go daily until Memorial Day. Unless DL is scheduled to be open 8-12 it will definitely not happen, but a midnight close still doesn’t guarantee Fantasmic.
The Question is if a Dragon is on the way, how long would it take to Install and Show Ready???

At WDW walls went up to install the Hatbox ghost on March 12th, 2024. He debuted on November 30th, 2024. 8.5 months for a animatronic roughly human size... although this was inside a working attraction.

The new Maleficent Dragon will be worth the wait.

As impressive as ‘Murphy’ was, the technology and engineering for large scale moving figures has advanced tremendously over the last decade and a half.
Strong yet lighter weight building materials, smaller mechanical controllers, new techniques for moving large heavy items, etc.
And animatronic components have all advanced quite a bit to some degree since the original Dragon was created.
These all point to the possibly for a even more impressive and animated figure to replace the girl we all loved.

I have a feeling we are in for a nice surprise.
If Disneyland drops the ball on this, they have to know people will revolt.
I would like to think they know this and will deliver a worthy replacement and not cheapen out.
This is Disneyland.

I can envision a nice replacement that moves smoother, slightly faster, and looks just as impressive.
But the big question is will she still breath fire and light the river up.

Hope so.
We shall see….

Guess the show gets stopped now if the Malificient lift doesn't work? It's interesting to see the F! logo come up on the water screens when it's e-stopped tho.
