Disneyland closed May 4, 2005?

It was the day all the Clark Griswalds of the world could really live out the scene from "National Lampoon's Vacation." The family, having departed their midwestern suburban home several days ago, headed to "Wally World," arrives in the parking lot of the Happiest Place on Earth.

"Dad, why aren't there any cars in the parking lot?"
"We're early, son."

The beleaguered family, having endured hours of interstate travel and bad meals served by distant relatives along the way, walk up to the empty ticket booth, where they are greeted by Marty Moose and get the unwelcome news.

Not believing their ears, they seek out a lone custodial worker. "Sorry folks, the park is closed. The moose outside shoulda' told you."

DISNEYLAND CLOSED?
. . . to all but media types, right? Oh well, there's always tomorrow and the California Adventure is open today. The suspense is so intense!

Is the park really closed? Why all of this just to lead up to a contrived media event? I haven't heard any rumblings that tomorrow will bring anything big we don't already know. :veryconfu

Yes, Disneyland is closed today except for media and a few thousand special guests.

Tomorrow might not bring anything new, but it will still be fun!

I'm sure Disneyland has sold out. I mean, if it's bigger cousin, Magic Kingdom, sells out, then Disneyland has to.

ALSO- every onsite guest at the Disneyland Resort recieved free tix to Disneyland for today.

Check this out before you go tomorrow, then get there early and have a great time. Wear gold - you'll blend, I'm sure!

Actually, all guests at the Disneyland Resort Hotels were given free tickets into Disneyland today, so it isn't closed to everyone ;)
