Disneyland closed May 4, 2005?
It was the day all the Clark Griswalds of the world could really live out the scene from "National Lampoon's Vacation." The family, having departed their midwestern suburban home several days ago, headed to "Wally World," arrives in the parking lot of the Happiest Place on Earth.
"Dad, why aren't there any cars in the parking lot?"
"We're early, son."
The beleaguered family, having endured hours of interstate travel and bad meals served by distant relatives along the way, walk up to the empty ticket booth, where they are greeted by Marty Moose and get the unwelcome news.
Not believing their ears, they seek out a lone custodial worker. "Sorry folks, the park is closed. The moose outside shoulda' told you."
DISNEYLAND CLOSED?
. . . to all but media types, right? Oh well, there's always tomorrow and the California Adventure is open today. The suspense is so intense!
