Disneyland 70th Anniversary

I imagine that they will likely announce whatever attraction they have decided to build at Avengers Campus at this D23. Three years later it will open just in time to be co-opted as a birthday present for the park in spite of the fact that it is not at the park.

You're quite the optimist.

The 70th anniversary was very briefly mentioned in yesterday’s livestream for the Disney 100th celebration yesterday. Skip to around 14:05:

What do you think they’re cooking up?

You means his “legacy building period”
(Customer Blue period…as I call it)?

Yes…and conditions change. He’ll be gone by 2025 and won’t get any credit. You’ll see more of a push for dividend and turning D+ into not a pumpkin is my hunch…

I’d love to be wrong - as usual.
K.

Would anyone like to take any guesses on potential things they may have in store for the park in 2025?

Okay, so… just on the Iger front. Dusty at MiceChat said some interesting things on his livestream yesterday. Opinions of MC aside, Dusty has been around a long time and has a lot of contacts.

It is around 26:14

Gets into a discussion on how the Disneyland experience seems to be improving, to be a bit more magical again. That CM morale is up. He attributes improvements of late to Iger.

Explains how the budgets were extremely tight under Chapek, and it made it very stressful to work in the parks, many left due to this.

Says it seems to be changing. Budgets are still tight, but the word is that also seems to be changing. CMs are being asked to pitch projects they haven’t been asked to pitch in a long time, and it seems Iger really wants to focus on satisfaction of the guest.

Point being, we should keep an eye on this.

Based on the last D23 I’d expect Sans Fransokyo overhaul of the Wharf and/or the Avengers E-Ticket.

We could also see a new entertainment package of a new show at Fantasyland Theater and a spectacular over at DCA rather it be a new parade or World of Color edition.

I completely forgot about that Avengers ride. I don’t see it opening in two years, but I could be wrong.

That ride isn’t on my radar at all. I’ll believe it’s coming when construction starts.

I’ll check it out…

Hoping it’s not too “buzzwordy” though…hard to take adults seriously when they talk like school children under hypnosis

i think having the 100th celebration in 2023 and then another huge million-dollar celebration in 2025 with parades, shows, fireworks, the works, is expecting a bit much personally. i think it'll be low-key like the 55th and 65th - food and merch, maybe a ceremony or whatever, and that's it, and then huge celebration for the 75th
