Disney World in first trimester (pregnant)

I can't even believed I typed that (we've been trying for a long time)! Anywho, any tips for a first trimester mom?

I'm feeling pretty good (knock on wood) not much nausea (unless I get hungry), a little heartburn, and feeling a bit worn out (tired). But other than that, I've over the moon with excitement.

Even though I'm only early I won't be going on any rides that have a warning. I've wanted and waited for this for too long. I will be one of those super cautious women!!!

My other concern is how my hubby will be able to handle the first two kids on rides by himself. They both love having a riding partner and I can see a lot of unhappy moments because a child has to ride in the seat alone. They're 9 and 7 but love having mom and dad next to them on the rides. Not sure how that is going to play out...

As well, I'm super hungry... no really, I went from being someone who picks like a bird to devouring everything in sight. I guess I will spend my time on a bench, waiting for the fam, and eating. So what's some awesome snack suggestions that are next to all the no-go rides that I can chomp on while waiting! ;)

Congrats!!!! I went to Disney when I was just a little over 3 months pregnant. My best advice is to listen to your body. If you feel tried rest! Make sure to stay hydrated too... I had a little morning sickness early in the morning when we first got to the park so I made sure to take it slow, drink water and eat something bland to take it away. My Doctor said I was ok to go on the more family friendly rides but avoid the thrill rides which I did.

Congrats it took us 2 years to get pregnant for my son. Now my wife is pregnant with twins; due in June. We went to Disney last year in late November. She was in her first trimester also. Google which rides are safe for pregnant women. You will be surprised that there are only a handful you can not ride. Of course the big rides will be a no no. Also we put in a room request at Coronado Springs; I told them my wife was pregnant and we needed to be as close to the food court as possible. They were very sympathetic and we got an awesome room. The food court rooms are closer to the main bus stop. Try it can't hurt. And once again congrats!

Never thought about a room request. We are staying at Kidani and the rooms at the end can be very far away.

Congratulations on the twins!!!

Sarah, you know I'm thrilled for ya. I know how long and hard y'all wished for this. Cannot wait until you're ready to bring the 5 of ya on your first cruise! I'm totally hoping to be there!!!

Do ya think A & A would like maybe riding together and let Dad be the odd guy riding alone? Y'all could totally be opening a whole new world for them! And that way neither rides alone. Plus, gives them a chance to look out for each other. Right?

That might be a good idea. They have done that a couple of times in the past when it was just me and the two of them. Good strategy!

We're thinking a cruise might be the perfect first vacation as a new family of five. We've already talked about it...

Blessings on your pregnancy, here's to a Happy and Healthy 10months:) I am 14 weeks with our 5th child and starting to come out of the morning sickness phase. We will be in WDW for one day in May, I will be about 24 weeks then. Some how with 9 trips with my 4 children I haven't been pregnant in WDW until now. I had severe nausea, hypermesis gravidarum with two of my babies and pretty gnarly morning sickness with the rest. Even if you are feeling ok now I would ask your OB about Zofran or Phenigren to take with you. The smells of WDW can make me woozy on a good day, either anti neausea medication could save a trip.
I too am eating like a Hobbit! All day every day, helps keep the m/s at bay! I know Hobbits aren't very Disney so perhaps I am as hungry as Gaston!?! No really I could eat 4 dozen eggs!
I think our ride ratio should work DS8 and DD7 can ride and DH and DD 4 can ride...I will chill and maby share a Mickey premium bar with DS2;) I am a little bummed about not being able to ride with the kids and see the cleaned up Splash Mt. But I know they will all give me a play by play:)
Post back and lets us know how you and the family did, have a Magical Vacation!

Look at you, rockin' number 5 - way to go!!! Congratulations!

Yeah, I think I'm looking forward to eating most of all. I come for the Mouse but stay for the food! :p

I've done Disney in my the first trimester with my first and the third trimester with my third. Drink LOTS and put your feet up every time you sit down. All that extra walking made my feet swell even early on. If you get tired, don't be afraid to head back to the resort for a solo nap. And milk the heck out of being pregnant with the snacks!

Also, good call on being cautious on the rides. My OB told me any of the rides that are jarring could "shear off your placenta causing the baby and possibly you to bleed to death." On that positive note...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! You have an email coming your way :D

We just returned yesterday from 4 magical days at the world...where I ate my body weight in food.

Some favorites of mine, my sister and mom over the trip:
- Pineapple/Orange Swirl Dole Whip
-Troll Horn from Kringla in Norway (A cloudberry horn but with lingonberry cream)
- Citron Tart (Lemon) at the new France Bakery
- Cheesy Garlic Roll at the new France Bakery
- Grapefruit Cake from Brown Derby at DHS (Didn't eat there - just asked the front desk to purchase a piece)
- Cheesy Pesto Bread from Art of Animation

Congrats again dear...so happy for you!!

I think I spoke too soon, for the last two nights I've been sick as a dog. I hope this isn't the new trend. This won't go over well when I want to stay out to see Wishes and Illuminations.

Newfie, call tomorrow for some Zofran or similar. I also got some relief from B6 100mg tab cut in half. Ask your OB about the right dosage of B6 for you. Hugs and hope it passes soon. My Granny always said that being sick is a sign the baby is growing:)
