Has anyone ever eaten the fast food Walt Disney World the prices seem to be too high for the product you could pay less money at Mcdonalds or Wendys and get a better product to eat.

But the Restraunts have the right idea although it is a bit more expense than your normal restraunt

It's just typical fast food, what you would eat at other theme parks. It is more expensive but everything is at disneyworld. The sunshine season food fair is has a fun atmosphere and Peco's Bill Cafe has a really good "fixin's" bar-grilled onions and mushrooms for your burger, you won't find that at McDonalds.

6 more days!!! WOOHOO! :sohappy:

There is an article on mouseplanet talking about how the fast food doesn't make a big enough profit margin, due to labor hours and overhead.

They've since closed a several of restaurants, and opened up more food carts. The restaurants that are left are serving fancier food so they can justify jacking up the prices.

The food is food. It's edible and it serves it's purpose. EVERYTHING at Disney is over priced though. $2.50 for a bottle of water?? HELLO? But that's one of the things that makes Disney, Disney. If I went to like Six Flags or Dolly Wood (for all us mountain folk  ) I'd NEVER pay that much for stuff. It's just how it is. :)

Yes the price of food is high, but it seems Disney is trying things to make it more cost efficient for people...

When I was in AK they were selling these Meal Plus Coupons. The coupons were 10.99 for adults and 5.99 for kids. The coupon entitled you to an entree in any of the restaurants in AK (except Rainforest, and kids get the kids meal) and a drink. Then you were also entitiled to a bottled water OR soda and an ice cream OR box of popcorn. I thought this was a good deal and if you are going to get an entree that is 6-7 dollars then you might want to think about getting this coupon at AK. Hopefully we will see this in the other WDW parks soon.

Kids Hot Dog meal, can't go wrong, it's $3.50, you get a hot dog, fries, and a small drink.....

When your eating, and your little sister has the same amount of fries as your ADULT HOT DOG MEAL that costs $2 dollars more without a drink!!!! You know it's a value.

Or just get two kids meals, still cheaper than one adult meal with a drink.

Yee ha! Did Dolly's Splash Water Park and Dixie Stampede this summer. My boys loved 'em both. But the prices for food were just outrageous, even worse than Disney! But it shore is purty in them thar Smokies. :)

Anyone have a clue as to what they normally spend at WDW? I recall about $25.- for the three of us for fast food every time we ate. On the average of course.

that sounds about right, we were probably around $30 for 4 of us, maybe a couple $'s higher or lower depending on where we stopped.

I always budget $50 per counter service meal for the four of us. That way, if it's closer to $40, I can use the extra to help go towards the snacks and sodas between meals. Every penny helps at WDW.

Funny, I've never thought of it as "fast food", not with the lines I've stood in!

I usually spend on average per adult meal with drink, like anywhere from $8.10 to $9.50 just for myself, so that's why I get the kids meals...

People often don't realize counter service uses both sides of the registers and that anyone can use the wheelchair accessible line.

I do it when I gotta scurry through during my lunch break, even if i do get glares from the single line on the other side of the register. Oh well, their loss, I'm hungry ;)

Hey there all!! I Agree the fast food at Disney is certainly not cheap. Have you priced fast food at any other theme park though?? I certainly think it is comparable. In addition to that for the extra couple of bucks, Id rather eat in a sit down restaurant and be served a good meal. Fast food is fine for a snack, but for dinner, it is a sit down place for me!! Last time I was at Universal... I paid $14.00 for a cheseburger, fries, and a drink. At Disney I usualy pay about $9.00 fro a double bacon cheseburger, fries, a drink, and I get mushrooms, cheese, and all the other yummy stuff at the fixin bar thingies. Im getting hungry now!

The prices at Disney world are no higher then if you go to
a Baseball game or football game. How about going to a
movie the prices for food or snack are high there to.
So the prices at Disney doze not bother me.

I completely agree with you Conntom Last night I went to a Michael Bolton Concert at Jones Beach. I stopped and got a pretzel and a coke (20 oz bottle type) and spent 8.50!!! I think that is actually higher than Disney!! Either that or we are just used to NY type of prices!! Belle

no Problem Conntom. As I said we live in a very high price area, so we are used to spendng 40 dollars to go out to dinner in a nice restaurant. That is about average for where I live. I wouldnt even think of going to a fancy restaurant. In NYC that can run you into the hundreds easily!! So when I go to some of my favorite places in Disney and it is about $25-$30 or so a person for a sit down meal, to me this is actually a deal!! I understand it isnt that way for most of the country though, and if you are coming in from out of the country, the exchange rate may have something to do with it also!! Belle
