Disney without kids...what to do?

Beyond the parks...what are some things for couples to do at WDW? Where are some nice places to eat? Are there any "adult only" places, like there are on cruises?

The only real adult only places that come to mind are Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk, upstairs after 10 at Splitsville and Rix at Coronado. As to what to do you can go to a store and not hear "Mommy I want this!" 50 times. You can go in a place like Hoi Palloi without having to duct tape their hands to their sides. You can actually make just 1 bathroom stop vs. 3 when going between point A and B, and there is no end of nice, high end restaurants like California Grill, Artist Point and Jiko that you can enjoy.

Drink around the world! Definitely not something to do with kids in tow. :) Can't think of anything in particular, although nice restaurants like Cali Grill, Jiko, Victoria & Alberts, and the private Chef experiences would probably be better enjoyed without little ones. Also, spa experiences.

See Cirque du Soliel, do one of the adults-only tours, drink around the world, take your time at nice dinners, and enjoy the really late EMH!! :)

Well you can, but the kids tend to get "misplaced" around Japan, then CPS gets called and those guys know how to kill a buzz.:)

Hi! My Dh and I have only ever traveled to WDW without kiddos so there is SO much to do! We play mini golf, carriage rides, bike rides, rent a boat, spas, dining. We do spend most of the time in the parks but we have never felt as if we needed an adult only place. There are places, especially places to dine, where you tend not to see kids - the lounges at the resort, Victoria and Alberts and some other resort dining restaurants like Citricos and Narcossi's (spellings?).

on those few and far between "no kids" trips- we love to go to resort bars and have a little drink and watch the scenery.
our favorite........outer rim lounge at the contemporary. just sit next to the windows, enjoy some quiet time and watch the lake.
also like to get a drink at Wilderness Lodge and go out on the porch in the big rocking chairs and enjoy the surroundings

V&A's is definitely a place meant for adults only. You need to wear formal clothes and everything. Food is outstanding, and not something most kids would put up with (and they need to be at least 10 years old). Outside of that, definitely hitting up the bars/lounges. Maybe even eating there instead of normal restaurants. The other signature restaurants are also a good call, especially if dropping $125+/person is a bit much for a meal at V&A's, but they tend to have families dining there, so it's not quite the same.

Victoria and Alberts!! Shopping and not having to keep an eye on the kiddies!( they won't be ther to break anything) Walking on the beaches. Just checking out all the great resorts. This is a trip I can't plan for quite a few years. Sometimes I think I'd miss my boys if I went without them.

Been there with kids and without(before the kids came). I loved going with my daughter and it was neat to experience with her, but there are a few things we just could not do. Hang out at a bar together, any bar, the one in the hotel, the ones at resaurants, just roll up have a drink and an app. Another is all the thrill rides obviously, but I have to add waterparks. If you have kids down the line, you will see that it makes little sense to take small fries when the hotel pool pretty much pleases them, but as just adults, slide away at Typhoon Lagoon!

So so much to do without the kids -- you might never want to go back WITH kids...
No set agenda - set out and do whatever you want to do...ride Carousel of Progress twice in a row...go round and round on TTA and people watch...eat at the better restaurants (personal favorite: The Hollywood Brown Derby at DHS, food is definitely adult-geared)...drop by any sit-down bar and enjoy a cocktail and relax...go spend a couple hours at Raglan Road in DTD - sit at the bar, and pretend you are a local (the bar area is mostly happy hour locals from Orlando)...See Cirque la Nouba (the late show)...eat at V&A (but it is too expensive and overrated, unless you don't have any 4 star restaurants in your hometown)...take the watercraft from DTD to any of the resorts (Riverside is the longest winding-est, most romantic - go have dinner at Boatwrights...or just turn around and take the next boat back to DTD)...Enjoy Country Bear Jamboree without the kids thinking its stupid, outdated (but it IS corny)...and have a relaxing time.

We have taken a night on our trips (when the kids get cranky and go to neverland club). We usually pick a slightly nicer dinner (nothing big like v&a, not my thing), and before, we hot tambu lounge for a lapu-lapu or 2, then just walk epcot and have some quiet shopping/drinking/snacking kind of night. Never did a whole trip.. I hear parasailing on the lake is fun, though!

If we were going without the kids, I'd definitely plan our trip to coincide with Food & Wine. Beyond that... V&A's would be a must, we'd probably do Cirque, and we'd likely revisit our first couple trip to WDW long before the kids where we drank around the World. I also could see us having fewer park days, but pushing it to the limit on the park days we do have planned...i.e. riding all of the things we can't ride with our girls and going at a much quicker pace. And on our non park days...sleeping in, drinks at the lounge or around the pool, maybe doing some water sports, and possibly trying a tour or special activity.

Ok,if it was just my DW and myself.Id buy two white Disney T- Shirts, and have a drink at each country in Epcot, get the bar person to sign the shirt with a permanent marker pen.Start at Canada and go anti- clockwise.Once you get to Mexico and down your margaritas.Head back to your resort room for some passion.;)
