Disney with baby.

In 2003 my son was 5 months and my dd was 5. We went in July. Talk about crazy! We had a blast. We paced ourselves and took breaks. Lots of a/c breaks. There are baby centers in all the parks that we took advantage of. It's a great place to let them relax for a little while.

Not crazy at all. Taking a baby to WDW is a breeze. I did it with no problems at all, I was just very prepared and fully utilized the care centers in each park for feeding and changing. They are cleaner than the restrooms and offer a nice retreat from the chaos of the park. You didn't say when you were going but if it is during the summer be very careful as babies dehydrate much quicker than your 6 year old (something I found out the hard way) so up the feeding times. I also highly recommend bringing your own stroller -- in your case I would look into getting a tandem one so you 6 year old can sit to. I know they rent strollers at the park but travelling to and from the parks without a stroller, carrying baby and diaper bag and everything else that you accumulate during you time in the parks can be crazy. You can also use your stroller until you get to the park and then rent a dual stroller for your stay and they will hold yours until you leave the park but I'm not sure how well a baby would do in the strollers they have as they are hard plastic. Finally, plan down time each day. It doesn't have to be back at the hotel either. All of the parks have playgrounds that your 6 year old can use while you and baby sit nearby and relax in a shady spot. If you do go back to the hotel make sure to give yourself at least 3 hours to allow for travel time. I also found that making character dining reservations for dinner outside the parks worked better for us. My DD, at 6 months loved the characters and had a blast with them when they would come up to her in her high chair. I'm not sure why some little ones are afraid of them and some aren't but I always thought it was because I used to put the Walt Disney World Fun sing-a-long tape in for her to watch while I wasw doing stuff in the house. She would sit in her swing and happily watch them so I always thought they were familiar and that's why she wasn't afraid. We didn't do really late nights at the parks when DD was a baby so having dinner outside the parks helped us avoid the crowds leaving and we never felt rushed to finish our meal the way we do in the parks. Anyway, that's my experience.

I've never done WDW with one so young, but with two of mine as infants without any problem. The facilities are nice (better than the average mall). I strongly recommend bringing your own stroller as someone else mentioned, but with that recommendation I suggest you get to the park early. Because if you are bringing anything other than an umbrella stroller the trams in the parking lot are a real pain with the typical stroller.

I didn't take any of my kids quite that young. But we did bring our youngest when she was 11 months old. She was actually the best behaved of our kids at that trip. She pretty much just napped in her stroller and enjoyed the characters and rides she could go on.
I think if you take a lot of breaks when the kids need them it will be really enjoyable.

Your own stroller is a MUST for a child that age. And I highly recommend a sit and stand stroller for the 2. We have been 3 times with our 2 DS and the sit and stand has worked out perfectly. Ours converts into a double stroller as well so DS(5) could fall asleep in the stroller at night. The conversion takes less than 5 minutes. Our younger DS has been at 3 months, 10 months, and 18 months.

And I like your DD idea of selling the house and moving to WDW :ROFLOL:

We've done it and will do it again as soon as the doctor says the baby can travel.(She's a tiny preemie 4 month old) We always stay on property which is great because since we do alot of shopping everything can be sent back to the resort and we don't have to carry a lot. Instead of a regular diaper bag I use a larger purse that I can wear across the shoulder and keep everything in there.

We took both of our girls before they were a year old. Anna was 8 months old. Lily we took at 7 months, and again at 9 months old.
Disney with a baby is very do-able and Disney really does what they can to make it easy. It was always a much easier trip with a baby then any non Disney trip. Every place had baby changing stations and was very family friendly.

My daughter is 6 months old and it was a breeze. She was so tired she slept a lot of the time anyways in the stroller. Bring a blanket to cover up the stroller when they sleep. My wife brought plastic clips for the blanket and it worked great. Get the individual packets of formula too...
We traveled with a 15 month old as well, and the 6 month old did A LOT better than the 15 month old. Disney with a baby is a breeze!
We were surprised that children could be held on most rides-- Train in MK, Living With the Land, Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, the clam shells, Figment, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion. I would think it could be a terrible liability for Disney but like I said babies can be held on all of the rides except for the obvious ones!! Some attractions like Bugs Life and Muppets are too loud for babies though, but you can certainly take them in!!
