Quick question for you experienced WDW runners out there, my hubby and I are coming in town for the Wine and Dine 10k, I am nursing a torn meniscus and my plantar fascitis is flaring up so needless to say I'm worried I won't be able to finish the 10k. If I have to stop and be taken to the finish line do I still get the medal or is it for completion only?

As long as you start the race you will get the medal. While in Paris I heard of a woman who was demanding her medals be given to her at the packet pickup expo, it doesn't work that way.

My cousin couldn't finish the ToT 10-miler because she was sick and couldn't breathe very well. But she tried and made it to mile 5. She was bussed to the finish and they insisted she take the medal even though she didn't want it.

We are starting to get so close I am stoked. Hurricane Matthew has cancelled my warm up 5k this Saturday so I am going to have to either find one close as a warm up or just simulate one this weekend. Either way, I am in the best running shape of my life. Was 265 Jan 20th and was 188 on the scale this morning and am avg about 38 miles a week running. This is the big payoff weekend and I can't wait!

Wow, congrats on the weight loss and training!

Thanks, I was hoping that was the case. I'm going to try my hardest to finish, but I don't want to not be able to walk for the next few days.

So, who is going to wake up at 0300 to run the half then go to the party that night? I might need a nap.

Me. But I'm going to take a loooong soak before that nap. Thank god I'm not leaving until Tuesday. Decided to go to the Christmas party Monday night.

So, the races are in 24 days. Shouldn't we be getting our waivers next week? And hopefully the guide will be available at the same time.

I'm not as prepared as i want to be for the half...but I will finish it if I have to crawl the last few miles. :)

This is my first runDisney event so I am all like super paranoid I don't miss out on a step for this event. Waiver and then just pick up registration packet at ESPN by that Thursday afternoon right?

You can print the waiver and bring it with you, or they should have computers/printers on site where you can print it. Packet pickup depends on what race you are doing. Half you should be able to pick up through Saturday, 10k/Lumiere Challenge would be Friday, and 5k would be Thursday close. Merch will most likely sell out as the Expo goes on, so if you want merch then you would want to get there earlier.

This will be my first runDisney event ever, and the first time I've done anything more than a 5k. I'm doing Lumiere's challenge, have been following Galloway's training plan for the half, and going to coached running classes at the Y. Did 12.5 miles this past Saturday, and felt better after that than the 11 miles 2 weeks prior, so fingers crossed for the full weekend! I keep reminding myself that I only have to finish - and I'm pretty sure I can pull it off and maintain the pace requirement. (I'm not fast, by any stretch, but even with stops and bouts of walking, I'm staying within the pace requirements.

Planning to go to the after party, and we're doing the same on Monday-staying to go to the Christmas party-anxious for that, we've never been.

By the way-just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has posted here. This is my first post in this thread, but I've read a lot of the posts, and the more I get out and run, the more I meet people that are truly interested in being part of a community, and I get the sense from the posts here that it is a common feeling.

Anxious to find out what the route map(s) are...has anyone seen them yet?

Ok, back to work. Have a great day!

I had that 12.5 miler on Sunday too. Nice work....the training works! This is my 2nd time following Galloway's method.
