Pricing actually went down in some cases.

I think the numbers a tiny bit off. Taking out the 6.6% processing fee (dividing by 1.066), I get $97 ($103.40)=5K; $137 ($146.04)=10K; $215 ($229.19)=Half; $360 ($383.76)=Challenge; Virtual 5K= $79 ($84.21); 10K= $99 ($105.53); Half= $118 ($125.79); Challenge= $252 ($268.63)

Ah I see. I did my math a little more backwards, 103.4 x .066 and then subtracting. Lol

Almost forgot to mention good luck to all who are early registering for Wine & Dine today!

I plan on trying to go for registration next week. Hopefully I am able to secure a spot.

EDIT: Hopefully my group can also secure spots.

Soul was all about a music teacher that had a jazz background. Definitely USA.
Yep, I figured they must be going for the “tribute to American music” angle there too.

I thought they were being haphazard picking a random set of characters and throwing them at race themes (and maybe they are a little). But I think they are going back to representing a different World Showcase country for each race (with the US being the theme for the Half), like they did in 2019.

2022:
5K: Coco (Mexico)
10K: Raya (China)
Half: Soul (USA)
Challenge: Aladdin (Morocco)

2019:
5K: Jungle Book (India; no pavilion, but represented with a food kiosk at Food and Wine Fest.)
10K: Frozen (Norway)
Half: Patriotic Mickey (USA)
Challenge: Three Caballeros (Mexico)

It really doesn't make a difference to me since I have never run these races, but I like the way Marathon Weekend has
always had their races attached to a character. 5k (Pluto) 10k (Oswald) Half (Donald Duck) Marathon (Mickey Mouse)
and then the Goofy and Dopey challenges.

My preference was when Wine and Dine was focused on thematic elements of food, culture, and travel. There were no characters and IPs to be found. It was glorious. Loved those early medals.

I like this as well however since this is already being done for Marathon weekend I enjoy how Wine & Dine changes the themes.

It really “spices up” (pun intended) each weekend.
