They all look like the old kids medals now, the old ones were classy and very well done. These almost look like plastic cheap medals.

Yes!!! That’s the best way to explain this! The current medals resemble the look of the crummy rubberized medallions we used to get for a 5K or Family Fun Run. Thank you for saying/posting.

It used to feel special. A way that adults could accomplish something yet be surrounded by something they love that made them smile. The event was well done, the medals were something to be shown off and be proud of. The event was worth almost worth what it cost and you felt like part of something. The expos were cool with special shoes only available at the event. Now it seems they are charging disney prices for a local 5k.

I am not a fan of the hodge podge themes for Wine & Dine the last few years by any means but I do like that they have at least been trying to do new things with medals. Sure some of my favorites are those more classic looks but I also have loved some of the newer ones too. You are never going to please everyone when it comes to themes and medals. My bigger problem with medals these days is the quality in terms of paint. They chip and peel like crazy these days.

I really don’t get the decision to change the "wine and dine" races to have nothing to do with food or wine. The incessant need for more IP is getting really old especially when it doesn’t fit the theming at all which the new guard at Disney parks doesn’t really seem to care much about (looking at you Epcot).

It’s definitely the weather, training for Dopey has been…interesting I’m not in Florida but I can’t even run outside so have been forced to run on the treadmill.

runDisney seems to have stealthily changed the logo of this weekend on the website. The new logo features grapes.

Yup, we've noticed that the medals have gone way down in quality and style. Like most things these days, they're designed by amateurs with little to no understanding of what made the brand what it was. My friends and I constantly go on about how our Dland 50th half marathon medal is downright stunning and the best Disney medal we have. They're doing the Dopey in January and downright upset at the quality of the medal. They like the Goofy one though.
RunDisney is an absolute disaster. Themes are completely pointless, the runs aren't getting any better, and the registration for the events is beyond laughable. Declining by Degrees is a great fit for it.
