What's interesting (and annoying) to me is that the official video from WDI says "Robotic Olaf". I thought Disney was trying to preserve the magic. Calling it "Robotic" seems to be not something they would traditionally do. It reminds me of when I went through Traditions class as a CM ~2008 when they said we don't call them "stuffed animals" because that implies something bad vs "plushes"

Apparently this is not something as closely guarded as before…?

Calling this ‘living character’ a robot really kind of dismisses and diminishes the magical aspect of the reveal a bit.
I think it’s great WDI is being allowed to develop such unique character interactions.
Olaf looks terrific…and it’s a shame he is being labeled as a robotic character right out of the gate.
The magic of the mystery of ‘how is this accomplished’ is being lost.

This is a really nice plus I would like to see brought over and utilized somehow Stateside.
More than likely as an element used in a staged show, or other interaction.
I can totally see this being used for a meet n’ greet opportunity, especially in Florida.

Not sure how this could successfully work as a free roaming character at WDW.
Perhaps at Disneyland, where the audience there is a bit more laid back and characters are not swamped with desperate crowds.
In either case he will definitely need to be watched by designated Cast.

Really neat little fellow.
Interested to see how he does once unleashed at the Parks he will be appearing in.

Yes, both locations would be excellent contained places he could ‘do his thing’ protected and away from overzealous Guests.

If this is to ever come to a U.S. Park, it will have to be for use in a setting like either of these.
Would enhance both experiences and Guests would still get to see him in action.

I agree that "Living Character" is better than robot, but on stage he'll just be "Olaf".

Ummmm, he was created for Paris, and presumably built there too!
Why should he be “brought over” to the US? Hands off Olaf!

I’m sure the US imagineering team can use the same technology (unless of course Paris has invoked an exclusivity clause), but why not use it for another character? It isn’t as if the US parks have an Arendelle land. Maybe Buzz Lightyear or Andy for TSL.

He was briefly playtested in DCA two years ago. I was SO sad I couldn't get in to see him but they were really restricting the experience and only letting a handful of handpicked people inside.

Can't wait to see how the AI learning animatronic handles itself when Olaf has multiple rude guest encounters and it feels like responding.
