According to Florida law no. Age of consent in Florida is considered 18 but there is kind of a sliding scale regarding 16 and 17 year olds. In a nutshell someone 23 or younger can legally hook up with a 16 or 17 year old. At 24 it technically becomes a felony. California law is somewhat similar but uses a 3 year window. (eg 16 and 19 is OK, 16 and 20....well don't drop the soap)

Agreed. This union seems a lot more aggressive than any of the ones I've read about at WDW. I seem to recall a while back that some of them were standing in front of the GCH holding up signs about Disney's unfair labor practices.

As much as I support the workers' right to be represented, messing with guests' vacations over a contract dispute feels out of bounds to me. If you can so casually rip away the veneer of Disney magic for visiting kids when you're unhappy with Disney, are you really the kind of person who needs to be working there in the first place? I don't like it.

According to the union UNITE Here Local 11, if it happens on Haunted Mansion, then the answer is yes.

Read the full statements from Sgt. Martinez of the Anaheim Police at the linked newspaper article here, and you can see that this is probably the lowest and sleaziest thing this union has pulled so far. The Muslim headscarve thing that backfired on them was pretty bad, but this one is just beyond the pale.

If I was paying dues to this union, and still didn't have a contract or a raise after three years of "negotiating" like this, I would be furious.

That's my point...non of the listed "Offenses" include anything CLOSE to pedophilia. Nothing like going for the sensational for a good headline grabber.
