Not that it would be more of a surprise - more that it would get a better reaction.Actually I think SWW would be more of a surprise since I think everyone expects it at D23.

TWDC is not building a fifth park any time soon....Look for the 5th Theme park at WDW on the West side of Western Way, thus the large amounts of Land Disney purchased a dew months ago.
It's been in the works for some time.
...well it is "Fantasy"land after all right? It's interesting to note that if you look some of the original articles about the Fantasyland Expansion it was also referred to as "ambitious".
That area was supposed to become "Flamingo Crossing". It was to feature a value-oriented, themed tourist district. Here guests would find lodging, restaurants, timeshares, and shopping opportunities. After the "Great Recession" those plans were scrapped. If you drive into WDW from 429 and into the Western Way entrance, you can see paved roads to nowhere, with some street signs.Look for the 5th Theme park at WDW on the West side of Western Way, thus the large amounts of Land Disney purchased a dew months ago.

"He also has said whatever new attractions are announced, they will be based on future films in the series, as well as its spinoffs."
This is depressing, to me. I want to see the places and people in Star Wars, the empire strikes back and return of the Jedi. But I suppose they'd any to tie in with their new movies to optimize marketing opportunities.
But that's boring! If I was an executive and a manager said that to me, I would fire that person on the spot. Great things were handed down to us because the creators dared to try something different. Look at all the big projects people undertook during the 1960's, for example, without powerful computers. Today, even with the computer tools to make things easier, no one thinks big any more. Everyone looks for safe and easy solutions instead of the risky and innovative ones.
I would tell my managers to start with a clean slate and to let their imaginations go wild and then look at what we have to work with and see how to make everything fit. The other way stunts creativity and makes everything business as usual. Business as usual is boring and doesn't attract nearly as many people. Attracting people is good business and generates long term profits.
Sorry for the rant. I'll pass the mic over to whoever wants it. Thanks for listening.
I notice that it says "Disney Parks"....I wouldn't hold my breath for too much in Florida.

I know. I was referring to the last part of your post where you said D23 would be a surprise unless that's not really what you meant. It's hard to surprise people with something they're expecting. The actual details will be a surprise though unless insiders spoil itBut they're probably not looking for a surprise, they're looking to make a huge announcement and make as much money off it as possible. Everyone expects it at D23 so they'll all be ready to cover it on news outlets, plus it gives great coverage to D23 in general and a reason for people to go.
Put me down on the side of not excited. Please go back to your roots with original, unique attractions based on your own movies.
