Interesting how $500 million gets 30 attractions in HK, but it takes $1 billion to redo DCA? Hmm... Wonder how many of that 30 is restaurants, shops, and meet and greats..... Sounds like the expansion is much needed though.

This might just make the Hong Kong park worth visiting now. I've always wanted to visit the city of Hong Kong, now I may have even more reason to do so. I especially like that many of the attractions there are in English unlike in Tokyo.

Well, HKDL was the park that counted Guest Relations as an opening day attraction. ;)

Per 2007 China labor bulletin the average construction worker makes about $235/month. Depending on the trade an American Construction worker can make 25 times that in a month. Even a lowly entry level framer can pull double that in a week. With those type of labor rates $500 million will get you quite a bit.

That sounds amazing, I wonder if they will clone WDS's Toy Story Land or make their's more unique?

30 new attractions is a type I believe. I think they mean that when all is said and done, HKDL will have 30 attractions total. Unless they are counting everything as an attraction - like the large gold nugget photo op.

And the Haunted Mansion at Mystic Point - sounds AMAZING! I'm glad it will be unique (like Phantom Manor ). Plus it is in a new land - keeping with the tradition!:sohappy:

Although HKDL is a nice park, I dont believe they should have built there. Shanghai should have been first choice as the city is much more easier to get to and more people could access it. If SDL would have done well then maybe consider HDKL not the other way around..

Having said that I dont believe half a billion is enough to will make this park successful espically if SDL is ever built...

Looks spectacular. I can't wait to head to Tokyo, and now Hong Kong, in a few years.

The only thing I'm not thrilled about is the Toy Story land. Doesn't fit at all in a Disneyland type park.
