Yes, sadly. However, it was the best choice. I'd never put it closer to Mexico, for.. well.... you know... Anyway, a clean water act would be put into place near Galveston to... um... clean up the water...

stitchcastle- The Haunted Mansion is already located in Arctic Square! Sorry for the mix up.

Sorry about the Mansion mix-up anyway I had this new Idea of adding "World Showcase" to the resort and would work side by side with the DisneySea project by means of the Cruise Ship in one of the harbours. (hint: every 30 minutes would be a cruise in the gulf of mexico and to keep the guests pre-occupied, there would be a special stage show in the ship, then before you know it you're in Japan!....you're in Italy!....You're in Morroco!...you're in China!....you're in France!....You're in India!)

Great SIR90210! Thanks so much!

stitchcastle- I like the idea, I just don't understand it. Do you mean that the ship in the Gulf will go to a Disney-made Morocco, Italy, Spain, France, Egypt, Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong, etc.?

Yup, an expanded version of world showcase which would act as both a whole other attraction to DisneySea and it's own Dowtown Disney-like area. They would aldo be part of their own resorts here are a few examples:

Japan = would have its own Japan Resort and Spa.

Egypt = Includes a massive pyramid in which its own "mini-land" is located themed to exploration and archaeology.

France = A scale model of the Eiffel Tower is the symbol of both the France pavillion and the Hotel Paris

Italy = with a gorgeous replica of Venice and has the Venetian Resort.

That's just some of the countries represented. Each will have at least one big attraction like the big wheel in London for the England Pavillion (I'm also thinking of having Hogwarts Castle in London). The Thailand Pavillion would have Elephant rides. The China pavilion would have the stylish broadway musical: "The Balad of Hua Mulan".

World Showcase would be massive and would have a lovely view of both the Magic Kingdom and DisneySea (Magic kingdom for the European contries, DisneySea for the Asian countries which would add to the themeing of the place)

World Showcase is not gated so people can come in and look around for free. But the rides and attractions are ticketed.

World SHowcase would have its own parade and not one but 2 nighttime attractions:

Illuminations: Reflections of Earth Just like at Epcot's and would be a huge treat for the guests comming from DisneySea as the full effect of the show can only be seen from inside the Cruise Ships

Noah's Ark a Fantasmic-like show done everynight for the guests at World Showcase.

There are 3 modes of transport between World Showcase and the Parks.
Going to DisneySea:
The SS Columbia and the SS Liberty (the cruise ships) - would greet you with "Sail Away" a musical production

Going to the Magic Kingdom:
Steamboat Willie - Featuring it's own "audible" attraction.

Going to both:
The Monorail - If you're in a hurry...

Not really It would follow more of a recreation of Venice itself type of theme.

I've also thought of a 3rd Park for the resort's Future development. It would be a combination of Epcot's Futureworld and Disney Quest.

An indoor Future World...?

Actually, I was once designing a park for Virginia (a land of weather extremes, not unlike Texas's Gulf Coast) and Tomorrowland was themed to be an enormous space station, something along those lines might work. Would you mind if I did a "Grand Texan" resort?

It's not really the indoor aspect of Disney Quest but rather the inter-activity of the attractions of Quest and the educational attractions of Epcot. some of the lands include: Discovery World (where most of the 'games' are), Seabase Alpha (similar to Epcot), Space Colony Earth (featuring Buzz Lightyear and would include the "create your own roller-coaster attraction, it would also include an "Aliens" themed thrill attraction), Terraventure (with robotic Dinosaurs and magma effects), and EPCOT (themed to the an experimental prototype city of tomorrow, would act as the mainstreet section of the park with various shops and restaurants)

Frontierland will be a massive complex themed to the days of the west. Its entrance would be a grand trainstation and would include some of the best rock work in the entire park.
In the middle would be the rivers of America and at the center of the river would be Fort Jamestown in which the Rivers of the New World rapid ride would be located.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - would be located right beside Thunder Mesa, yup this would mean that Frontierland would finally have: Western River Expedition the legendary supposed WDW attraction

other attractions:
Woody's Roundup -a musical with Woody and friends
Stories of the Liberty Belle - As we ride the liberty Belle riverboat various effects and storytellers help narate great tales of the wild wild west.
Home on the Range Petting Zoo - A petting Zoo

How about an "official" hotel, one on Disney property not owned by Disney but sharing all (or most) of the privileges granted to guests of a Disney-owned resort hotel. Here is mine:

Renaissance Resort at Disney's Texas Resort

900 neatly appointed and spacious guestrooms and 100 suites and villas comprise this towering, elegant Disney's Texas Resort landmark and five-star resort hotel. Designed by famed architect Michael Graves, it is a stunning example of "Entertainment Architecture" in the manner of the Swan and Dolphin resorts in Walt Disney World and Disney's Hotel New York in Disneyland Paris. An exotic atrium greets guests as they check in. Guests are treated to 24-hour room service and complementary weekday newspaper delivery throughout the length of their stay. The vast grounds surrounding the resort are home to dozens of recreational activities open to resort guests. Guests also have many world-acclaimed fine dining opportunities to choose from during their stay, both in the resort hotel and nearby in the adjacent Disney theme parks, resort hotels, and Downtown Disney. And, of course, complimentary transportation is offered to all Disney’s Texas Resort theme parks and attractions.

8 restaurants and lounges are as follows:

-Bistro Florentine—North Italian cuisine

-Thera—Traditional Greek, North African, and Middle Eastern dining

-Mannheimer’s Inn—Pennsylvania Dutch breakfast and lunch buffet; Disney character breakfasts and dinners on Sunday and Wednesday

-De Provence—French country dishes

-Café Guatemala—Gourmet Central and South American fare

-Lena’s Poolside Grille—A quick snack or drink by the pool

-Lobby Lounge—Enjoy beverages while listening to a professional piano quintetplaying classical or jazz each evening

-Rotunda Lounge—Relaxing rotating lounge on the topmost floor of the hotel

A shopping arcade in the atrium lobby consists of the following 8 shops, an ice-cream parlor/coffee shop, and a beauty salon/barbershop:

-Bookends—Store selling books, videos, dvds, music, and stationery

-Cascades—Store offering sports equipment and swimming accessories; adjacent to swimming pool complex

-Fantasia Gallery—Disney gallery featuring rare collectible items

-La Cuisine—Kitchenware and utensils

-The Jeweler—Specializes in jewelry for women and watches for both sexes

-Estee Lauder—Cosmetics from the Estee Lauder brand

-Greetings from the Renaissance—Resort’s souvenir shop

-Vacation Vestments—Clothing for men, women, and children

-Bookends Coffee Bar—Coffee shop and ice-cream parlor adjacent to Bookends

-Cypress Salon—Hair salon catering to men and women

There is also a wedding gazebo and wedding chapel—nondenominational, of course.

Recreational amenities include:

-On-site golf course—Renaissance Greens Country Club; golf instruction available

-Preferred tee times at nearby courses in Disney’s Texas Resort

-Eight Tennis Courts lit for use after-dark

-Horse-drawn carriage rides

-Hedge maze

-Aviary in lobby

Since it is by the Gulf of Mexico, it should have a marina for boating and fishing excursions:animwink: .
