Disney Studios replacing HSM3 for the new Disney Channel movie music show in Oct

I love the music show at Disneyland, the stage comes up out of the ground and some girl is singing a classic Aerosmith hit while your waiting in line to ride the submarines. awesome. some of the bands my kids liked better than I did but overall I thought it was great. I even remember telling my wife they should do this at DW. if this is what they are replacing hsm3 with I'm all for it.
You mean the Tomorrowland Terrace stage? We have one too its inside Cosmic Rays and only used for student symphonies. (Tokyo has one as well btw.)

I know a lot of people are very anti the HSM shows at the Studios, but the fact is, they have been really popular for years. Even though they have several performances per day, and have been going for years, they still get big crowds for every single show.

Yep that is true, but I think I am more annoyed by all that singing in the middle of the park than by the Tour Groups.

Yes, I went there. :D

Maybe I'm wrong, but that could be because the show is right in the 'center' of the park. Everyone who is entering, exiting, or travelling across the park (TSMM to Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood Boulevard to Streets of America, etc) will be exposed to the show, and many of these people will stop because at least it's some form of upbeat entertainment. Put Stitch's Supersonic Celebration in front of the castle, instead of in its obscure back-of-Tomorrowland location without anywhere to sit or any shade from the heat, and it might have gotten big crowds as well (but hopefully not!).

Not a fan of the corporate-natured shows that blast Disney pop music at the expense of atmosphere music (HSM, the "Celebrate It!" show that engulfs MK's hub), but they're cheaper forms of entertainment that do manage to entertain people, so I guess they're here to stay.

As a new poster (but long time silent follower) I find it unfortunate that some, not all, posters so quickly dismiss some attractions and/or shows on property. Not all Disney entertainment/attractions are developed for guests of all ages.

However, I believe that some of these experiences do possess the high quality that is synonymous with the Disney brand. The energy and commitment shown by the cast can only be found at Disney.

Whether or not the company will admit it, the company is a business and does have to turn a profit. To ensure their success they strategically utilize the marketing opportunities available to them. This includes promoting highly followed and successful Disney Channel Shows in the parks, even if they do not appeal to all guests.

I hope that some posters will take this into consideration before they bash something because it is not to their liking. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I am not suggesting that one does not voice this opinion, I am just voicing mine.

Thank you! It sometimes amazes me how quick people hate something out of their demographic! My sisters eyes light up every time they hear the High School Musical stage coming down the street, and even more when Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it starts in Magic Kingdom. While both shows aren't my faforite just look at how happy the kids watching them are. Once you get past the "All new disneys bad" ideal they are actually really well done shows with a lot of energy IMO.

You can sacrifice your dignity for a quick profit in real life that we all know about.

HSM 3 show feels like Disney is sure doing it.

How is HSM sacrificing Disney's dignity?

Regardless of the target audience of the show I think the movies suffer from awful writing and acting, and to me that is not up to the standards Disney set for itself on the early years of filmmaking.

But hey, what can I do when there is a mass of teenagers out there who disagrees with me.

I think the inference there was that the third movie in the series may have been Disney just milking the franchise for a few dollars more....

Personally, as long as the HSM1/2/3 shows pull people away from ToT or RnRC, I'm fine with it staying.
