This is EXACTLY what happens when all your security is tied up screening guests, strollers and backpacks looking for contraband…
I expect anyone with any scuba or snorkeling gear in their backpacks will be instantly thrown to the ground, arrested, interrogated and perma-banned from Disney property!

Hey, just because they confiscated your tins of krill last time you went there...

My theory: all three were in on it. Guy never actually was in the water, he’s an employee, came to work with the scuba suit in his bag, charged somewhere on the “vessel”, made sure a security camera caught him in his getup, “stole” the money, changed back into regular clothes somewhere and walked out with all the other restaurant staff from across the park like normal.
I think I’m inclined to agree. Although I have to admit that it would be pretty impressive if true (but remember kids, stealing is wrong even if done in a cool way).

This seems like it would have required a good bit more gear than just SCUBA equipment. Village Lake is pretty murky, so it seems like a decent light would have been required to actually be under the water. And then there’s the distance to actually swim somewhere else.

A decent nav board would be it. If it was luminous no light necessary. Count your kicks and follow your bearing.

Could a submersible be put in somewhere "remote" on property and then be used to enter a park? Are the waterways connected enough to do that?

I believe a submersible was attempted to rid World Showcase Lagoon of the floating tacos and the Stargate.

Would be tough logistically but I think with the right plan - it could work.

Might need one of those boring machines like they had in the Ocean’s movies. You know, La Foreuse B600. Or maybe borrow one from Musk.
