What positions do they have other than the costumed one. Im an 8 year Deputy Sheriff thats always wanted to work in Disney as security but more of better paying role due to my training. I have seen they have undercover at every gate that I can spot out but what else do they have:shrug:

I'd suggest that this is something you look into nearer your retirement date from "real" policing, I can't imagine it pays anything like what you're currently on. Unless you do Disney security while on Rest Days to supplement your income

I was thinking more on the corporate level, as far as costumed positions I make that in the first 10 minutes of every hour

From my understanding security positions fall under the Health and Safety umbrella and therefore have stricter guidelines for hiring than just having police experience. You could probably easily get into a position in security but you would have to see the guidelines for any corporate position.

the following is for a manager ... the lowest of the "corporate" positions. The higher positions ie Director have the same requiremets as a manager and then some.

This may give you an idea if you are even qualified for the position...as noted, these are the minimum requirements soo they may actually be looking for more.

When I worked there most of the Disney security that I knew were at or near retirement age and had 20-30 years experience and that was for non-corporate positions. I think it tends to be people who retire and want to make a bit to supplement their income (as a previous poster mentioned) not for people looking for a large paycheck as their only source of income for their family.

The heads of security required management experience, university courses and as head of loss prevention, required specialized training courses and work experience. I didn't know anyone there personally but I knew that a few of the security people said they didn't have the requirements for management.

Having 8 years experience as deputy sheriff may be an asset but you may still be a long way from having the requirements for a corporate position.

Not sure what age you are but perhaps you could start taking some of the required courses in order to be eligible and apply in a few years if you're set on getting a corporate job. Otherwise you may be eligible for a costumed security job, as someone with law inforcement experience you would fit right in. They're a great group.
