Disney Rewards Card - Leaving Tips?

We have the free dining plan this year but I know that we are responsible for the tips. Trying to make sure I have enough cash to be able to tip properly. I just ordered my Disney Rewards Card from Visa and I have quite a bit of money racked up. Can this card be used to leave the tip on meals??????

I don't see why you couldn't use it for tips. Alternately, you can use your room charge for tips then use your rewards card to pay off your room charge.

Oh that is also a good idea. Thank you. I just wanted to make sure. Was going to bring enough cash but in case I didn't have it, I will definitely have my rewards card.

Thanks!

Yes, yes, yes you can. When your check comes to you add the tip on and when they run the card the tip will be in with the price of the meal and then the points deducted from the rewards card. The only thing I found I couldn't do was take my "money" on the rewards card and put it on the room card prior to making any purchases. What I did was secured the charging on the "room" card with the actual Visa card itself. Then I went down before we checked out and paid the room charges with the rewards card. It is wonderful to use and it was never turned down anywhere at the world on either trip I used it on. I have mine all loaded up for the September trip. Enjoy. :sohappy:

Ok so the same will happen with the free dining? They will bring me a "bill" for what it would have cost so I can determine the tip. Then I give them the rewards card for the tip amount I have decided?

That I can not answer as we have never done the free dining so I just used the rewards to pay the meal bill. Sorry, I don't have answer on that. You could probably use it the long way around and put the tip on your room key and then used the rewards to take care of your room charges.

Make sure you check the expiration for your rewards card when you get it if going next year....I had a big problem two years in a row and after the first one, which took about 3 hours phone time and 7 calls to get fixed....I specifically asked in December when I ordered it explaining the previous years crud that I was going to the world in January and wanted to ensure they could issue one expiring at end of NEXT year vs this year. She assured me over and over she could, that there were TWO ways to do it and she was good at it. First time I ended up dealing with Marketing and they cancelled first card expiring in two weeks at year end and issued another. This time was more of a nightmare....I had to keep speaking to different people who assured me first it would work....secondly that it would not because of expiration then points would be lost forever...then eventually got a "manager" who told me ONLY way was to purchase a Disney Gift card with my expiring card and use that....well I had about 400$ on my points and had to buy a $500 card...:brick:....ok so I finally thought I was in the clear...same fellow also told me I could not speak to anyone in Marketing nor could he....so this was Dec 28th....I bought card and ended up rejecting it with Disney as the points expired the 28th and it did not post to the visa point system til Jan 2........Disney ended up straightening it out for me....when I called back to the Visa line and complained mentioning my frustration and the guy I talked with she said "Oh him...he is just lazy...":lookaroun.....anyhow I will now be calling January 2nd and hopefully it will get out in the mail pronto.....points are food....:sohappy:.

But to answer your question...we have used that card for the past 5 years and on just about ANYTHING and everything in the parks. You should not have a problem....once you get the card....;)

Yes, you will get a bill that will show you how much your meal would have been. Then you will see at the bottom how many credits were used. Then you just fill in the tip amount like you normally would.
