Disney Quest to close in July 2017

It was on WDW property though...

It was and still is on WDW property. It's lasted 19 years on WDW property. A product like this wouldn't have lasted 19 years if it wasn't successful.

The success it had at WDW is an indication of how it would have been received at Disney's other theme park resorts. People went to it and liked it, that's why it survived for so long despite having so little investment after it opened.

My bad, I misread your post. I agree with you though, the reason it did as well as it did without much investment was because it was on property.

Pretty sure it would have lost money if run on normal commercial terms.
It stayed open because closing it would have dealt a death blow to Downtown Disney, particularly after Pleasure Island failed.
Disney Springs is on a firmer footing, and they can now absorb the loss of DQ.

Not sure what you mean by different demographics, do people who like sports not go to disney? o_O

Love your comment here! Especially since Disney hosts so many athletic events and has a large sports complex on site, which itself includes multiple basketball gyms.

I'm not sure what you mean on normal commercial terms, but DQ was there to make the company money, and it did. Do you really think they would have kept DQ open all these years if it was losing money? This is a very budget sensitive company and they wouldn't be letting an area drag down financials if it was operating in the red for multiple years. No, PI was not in the red... until they closed it down.

The only game I really liked was Pinball Slam....Just about a year ago they finally switched to HD Projection and the image is much better than it was before..

I hope they could incorporate it to the NBA Experience and retheme it to basketball pinball...But, I doubt it...:(
Keep,it open for gorf alone

saddest sight I ever saw.
What is sad is that Disney abandoned DQ once the chain concept died. This had real potential if regularly updated. I guess in some ways DQ represents what happened in the parks during the same time period, but at least the parks all got something while DQ was completely ignored.

I'm sorry to those who still enjoyed it, but personally I look forward to something new in this space.

Believe me I'm looking forward to something new too. This though had so much potential.
