In the news today, Disneyland officials have lobbied against a parachuting Santa to land in a nearby park in Anahiem. The motion has passed due to the flight restrictions that the Disney company has aquired for the Disney Land and Disney World parks. According to the airspace guidlines, aircraft are not permitted to fly under 3000 ft withen a 3 mile radius of either park areas. This guidline was placed after the terrorist attacks of 2001. Disney officials asked for this resolution at that time to insure that terrorists could not easily target the parks. Anaheim "Jingle Bell Jump" supporters are furious with the Santa ban and wish to make an accord with Disney next year. For more info, go to yahoo news.

You infact can still fly into that airspace, but you must be in contact with ATC and tell them of your intentions and destination. When I flew with Rob from Fullerton to Orange County, we were at 1,500 feet and flew past DL about 1-2 miles away. Most people who don't fly everyday don't know this, but it's still legal.

It has to do with both parks.

No, Anaheim is pretty far away from Lake Buena Vista.

If the flight restrictions are what you are referring to ... well thats really old news.

They wanted to drop snta into a Park near DL.... it would have required a flyover disneyland to get to it....

Ooooohhhh! Ok. Thanks for that! I was just imagining a Santa parachuting into DL and about 10 security guys immediately pouncing on him at once. How traumatizing would that be for little kids?
