Disney pools

I know that Disney pools are for the exclusive use of Resort guests, but does that mean that if I am at BoardWalk I cannot go into Yacht Club pool and others around property.

We stayed over Christmas at BoardWalk and me and my sis would frequently visit Yacht Club pool. Also, from all 12 trips to Disney I've been on, I have gone into all the feature pools on property...

But we always sneak in, "just in case...." and we do see CMs watching attentively

So can any Disney Resort Guest use any pool, or is it strictly for the specific Resort guest. Not that it will stop me in the future.... but wondering.

Cause that means I could have only legitimately swam in Caribbean Beach and BoardWalk. YIKES!

You can only use the pool at the resort you are staying at. Pool Hopping is not allowed.

If you snuck in at Stormalong, you must have worked at it. In September all pool guests had to show room ID to get a brightly colored wrist band, which was required while at the pool. Couldn't use the slide without it either.

(Is the Stormalong pool that much better than the Boardwalk pool or was it just the danger of sneaking in that enticed you?)

They have rules, which they enforce to various degrees supposedly depending on how crowded the resorts are. Forum members on a similar thread told of seeing security "escort" unauthorized guests from pools. but I think that's rare.

This question usually gets people HOT, so STRAP IN!

resort pools are for the exclusive use of the registered guests of their respective resorts.

However, CM's don't monitor their usage.

If caught though (it HAS happened), guests can be penalized with additional charges on their bill (it is legal to do this, to charge for usage of additional privileges) or be kicked out of their resort (also legal to do this, for being in an unauthorized area) among others. For the most part though, if caught, you'll just be escorted from the pool, and possibly the resort

They had MANY CM's monitoring Stormalong in September and the pool was almost empty. On weekends we were asked for ID almost immediately.

that's an exception and not the rule. They probably did this since it was September, and during that month security is high to prevent terrorist BS

I have been asked to show ID, and I show them my room key/ticket to the parks and they just accept us as registered guests I guess. Arent all room keys the same, how can they see a visible difference, it does not say which Resort one stays at??

I don't understand why they don't add your resort to the card. Would make more sense if they did.

in the numbers written on the card, the resort is encoded (ex- 66=X resort, 71=Y resort), most lifeguard's (ie- Pool CM's) don't know the codes though. I learned them when I worked in GR

For my sake and fun factor I hope they do not implement that....two well-behaved upper teen-aged kids from NJ are fine to have the run of the pools and will not disturb anybody...and if they are over crowded by precisely two, we will leave!

security reasons. The resort, ticket type, and vacation package are encoded on the card

You could probably get away with pool hopping, especially if you are already in the resort, since most resorts have changing rooms near the pool. I am sure people do it, and get away with it.

They were checking ID's in the morning during our visit. We did not go to Stormalong Bay untill later in the afternoon. Saw people with wristbands so I asked someone. He said they checked ID's and escorted about 10 people from the pool.

Thats crazy!!! Ive never seen anyone actually checking hardcore Resort IDs. And its wierder because, being me and my sis are still in school, we can only go to Disney over breaks...i.e. Easter, Christmas, and summertime. Those are the peakest most crowded times ever, and we never had any real problem.

This last trip tho, a CM from Yacht Club came over to talk to me and I got nervous. He asked my questions about the Resort, how I liked it, what area am I in, and where we'd be going for dinner...luckily I was well-versed in Yacht Club lingo and I survived and won!! But I will say that Stormalong Bay is not that hard to get into....

What about Port orleans French Quarter & Riverside? You can use both of those resorts pools since they are considered one can't you??:veryconfu

I'd assume that you could being they are connected....but the Disney Resort is just that, A MASSIVE RESORT, thats why I tend to use and sample all of the pools at my liesure...

They were doing this is September, 2002. When did you see this happen?

The CM's at Stormalong definitely know the codes on your room cards. They told me what the BC code was but I don't remember it.
